Food was good. Presentation could be taken up several notches. Service was good too. Server was attentive.
To be honest, we stopped going to this location in person a while ago, due to the dated atmosphere, tacky decor, and booths that were in such disrepair that you could barely sit on them. So I was extra surprised when we came in tonight and saw the wonderful update and remodel that’s has been done! Even the exterior of the building was painted. Such a fresh new face to a local favorite!

I hate to leave a sub par review but the food was just very mid. Very very mid. That’s important when you’re going out to eat, ya know? I had the fajita chicken bowl and it was simply alright. It’s on me, I’m not much of a Texmex guy. I went in blind off a recommendation and didn’t know what I was getting into.
That said, the chicken was pretty good, and so were the chips. The chips were freakin’ huge. Like ginormous. Think of when you’re a kid and use absurd words to describe large things. THAT is how big these chips are.
I was going to leave a 2 star review but this place inspired me to go on a Cedar Rapids Mexican gauntlet run while I’m in town and for that I’m grateful. That and my server was good, she was super attentive and I appreciated that. Who knows, maybe other dishes are better!

Food was good, although the presentation didn’t help. Looked like they messed up the order but used the same plate. Server forgot one of my sides as well as asked us if we wanted desert while we were still eating. Received our bill before we were done. Chips and salsa to start was definitely a nice touch. Disappointed, but we will be back to give a second chance.

The best chips and salsa in town hands down! I ate here on a Thursday night ($5 marg night) and the place was hopping. The salsa is killer and I could just eat that for an entire meal. I got beef enchiladas and a side salad and both were delicious. Service was excellent and my waitress was on top of everything. Even rude and demanding customers at the table next to me didn’t phase her

I waited more than 45 minutes for a soup, and the other dish was three enchiladas. The waitress’s excuse was that there were a lot of people, but the other people who sat near me and arrived after me were served their dishes.

First time here in a while! Not disappointed, better atmosphere, cleaner even with construction underway! Although rice is over, slight dry and serving are a little smaller than previously. Still get plenty to feel you up! Will come again!

We went for a birthday celebration, that also was a day of March madness queso and margarita specials and it was very busy. Staff did a good job keeping drink, queso and chips flowing as well as quick fixes when a few things canlme out wrong. Everyone liked their food and left extremely full. Staff was freindly and knowledgeable, all food was extremely cheese and they let us bring in a cake AND gave dad free birthday dessert.

They were good and fast. And we didnt have to ask for refills. When we first got there there was three women at the counter just talking and didnt even realized we were there. Our two server’s were awesome. I’m having troubles speaking and had to point and she understood what I wanted and what to leave off my food. I will be going back again.

Got seated pretty quickly but when we got our chips and salsa the chips were stale and salsa was rotten and disgusting.
Also got a strawberry lemonade and it was essentially strawberry’s mixed with water… never comin back. My burrito was stale, rice was absolutely disgusting and the beans looked like my dogs waste…

I got the new pork belly street tacos, mostly because they sounded good, but also to represent my home state of Iowa. I was blown away by how good they were, with the perfect amount of spicy and sweet, all three were wiped from my plate. It’s great to see the chefs innovation being rewarded by the company, I wish more food chains would do the same thing!
