This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. The customer service at Coco Bongo Mariscos & Mexican Restaurant was horrible from the moment we sat down. We waited an extremely long time just to get drinks, and no one bothered to explain the delay, check on us, or show any concern at all. When the food finally came out, it was disgusting and unacceptable. We were served lobster that was BLACK on the inside, which is shocking and completely unsafe. On top of that, the plates were packed with random extra filler and very little of the actual main course. For the price, it felt like a total rip-off. What made this experience even more infuriating was how the staff handled everything. They took forever, showed zero urgency, never apologized, and didn’t do anything to fix the situation or make it right in any way. No replacement, no apology, no accountability, just pure indifference. Bad service, bad food, and zero effort to correct obvious problems. Save your money and go anywhere else. I will never be returning.

My husband and I came here today and had the best service by Marina Zamora she was very attentive and served us with a smile. The food was so delicious and the drinks were great too! They had a live Mariachi band and just a great overall experience.

I visited this establishment with my family after calling ahead to confirm that children were welcome, and we were assured they were. We arrived around 7:30 p.m., and the live music began at approximately 8:00 p.m. Initially, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the singers were engaging. However, as the evening progressed, the environment became increasingly inappropriate for a family setting.
Around 9:00 p.m., a woman at the bar became visibly intoxicated. She began behaving in a highly inappropriate manner, including dry humping her companion, lifting his shirt, and touching other male patrons who walked by. Despite this behavior, no staff members appeared to intervene or address the situation. This was very uncomfortable for everyone present, particularly because my young niece was with us. The woman was clearly over-served, and I truly hope she was safe and not taken advantage of afterward.
While the performers were entertaining, I would encourage the management to clarify whether the venue is intended to be family-friendly or strictly for adults. If it is a family restaurant, it would be best to ensure that such incidents are handled promptly and that the entertainment remains appropriate for all ages.

I WAS THERE AND THEY WAS SO BADD they had terrible service and they gave us the wrong order, the people didn’t listen and they paid them to act differently. Food was super bad order wrong music super loud and just open super bad because the food was too or too salty or too sweet or sour and when asked to get something, they wouldn’t come and give us it. couldn’t even talk anyone.

As a person who doesn’t speak Spanish, the menu can be intimidating…but once you are in the restaurant you realize there is some English translations. Even more than that, the server explained and took her time making sure we understood.

First off, that lil cup of soup and those tortilla chips alone are amazing. I had to have a second cup of soup and inquire more about it. Apparently its the base to their other soups….totally delicious. These tortilla chips were fresh and well seasoned. We ate them by themselves (I think we were supposed to dip em in the soup but that didn’t happen.

We ordered steak tacos but beware of that orangy sauce they give you…its made of fire

I ordered the mojarra and got the beans instead of rice. Those beans were to die for. The mojarra was a lil overcooked and didnt have much flavor.

Im willing to try again because my experience was overall so good. Our total bill was only $34 for 2 meals and 2 drinks.

We drove 40 minutes to have a fun evening and was anything but, when we arrived the manager said this seat is all we have if you don’t like it wait outside till someone leaves. The service was terrible, took 26 minutes to receive our drinks, we ordered a Pińa mojito which had half the mint plant in it, ordered a water to make three drinks out of it after fishing out half the plant, a coconut drink that was absolutely nasty we could not drink it. A lobster dish that was absolutely spoiled! No meat in the tail and the meat in the claws where black! Why the cook sent that spoiled lobster is outrageous, the manager did not apologize and said what else do you want to eat! 75% of the meal was Tyson fries from Walmart and had the nerve to charge 90 dollars for that! The cooked Sucked, The bartender Sucked at making drinks, and the Manager’s customers service skills was trash like our waitress service. This place is garbage! “Never Again”
We’ll be going to Puerto de San Blas or El Toro Prime for great seafood next time.

I’m usually a regular twice a year customer, but I’ve never experienced a such lack of professionalism, I ordered a drink minutes in and received it 45 minutes after, the waitress was very rude and disrespectful. I had told the manager/Owner and was very laid back without carrying.The waitress was talking back, didn’t care about her service and took very long to get our orders in. Definitely not coming back !
