The food here is super duper good; best Indian food we’ve had in the States. They are really creative with their dishes. I highly recommend the butter lobster: it’s like butter chicken but with that umami, flavorful lobster twist instead; a much better alternative. Their Lassi is also very good: more fruity mango flavor instead of the usual sugary overflow. We were recommended by a local to come here. Honestly, we didn’t have high expectations at first. But after eating here once, we were here again the next day dreaming about how good their food is. 100/10 super recommended!

Or food quality seems to be OK. There are some hits and misses. The Paneer was not good at all. It seems soggy and almost had a tofu consistency. The wine served seem to be even cheaper than what you ordered. Veg pakora was good. Overall, the quality of food was mediocre. Service was very good. Ambience is not up to the mark.

Good to see Indian food restaurant in bar harbor downtown. Ambience is decent and food is not authentic Indian. Tried few items but they are mediocre. Service is fast. Overall OK restaurant to go if you want try different cuisine when you are in vacation to Acadia or Bar harbor.

Royal Indian is a fantastic option to mix it up from the usual Lobster rolls in Bar Harbor. Since we were in Maine, we wanted to still get lobster, and it was really unique to have it in an Indian curry. Our food was delicious!
We ordered the chicken Momos which were fantastic, and came with an awesome chutney to dip into! The Butter Lobster and Lobster Korma were great dishes! So much Lobster meat in very flavorful sauces with honestly good portion sizes! This was a great way to have Lobster in a different but super flavorful way. The patio area was a nice place to sit and we were able to have our dog right beside us! Service was quick and attentive without feeling rushed. Would definitely recommend!

The food is so good and tasty i recommend their daal soup specially if you visit on a rainy season, paired mine with lime and its perfect! Also ordered lamb tandoori and veg biryani , its the best. For appetizers i highly recommend garlic cheese naan or garlic naan. Authentic chai tea is also a must try. One of my fav food place we went to, had a great experience and got a chance to meet chef lemar, and our server ashma is the nicest .

I am so glad we run into Royal India, I know this area is all about lobster, chowders and seafood, but after 2 days of that mediocre $$$ buttery lobster, I want something exciting. So happy to have this place, their tandoori lobster is way more flavorful and served on a hot sizzling plate, their naan was amazing, the garlic naan was even better with meal. I ordered the curry chicken, comes in a medal bowl that maintain the heat for a while so the chicken won’t get cold quickly, the flavor was on point as how curry supposed to be and chicken was very tender. We also ordered Samosa, we asked for some spicy sauce which add even more layers of flavor to the already amazing samosa. The tandoori lobster special, lamb saag, vegetable curry and chicken masala were all very flavorful and delicious and generous portion, the price is reasonable compare to the other restaurants. We had the pleasure to speak with Ria about all different kind of curry, food, India and what she recommend, I’m glad she is patience with us, we all have a fantastic time there. They also have the authentic chai which my friends whose’s chai connoisseur approved. P.S. they are one of the few that serves Coca cola. I really appreciate that!!! Highly Recommended!!

We had dinner at Royal India yesterday and it was such a great experience! We were seated right away on the patio, which had a really nice atmosphere. We ordered the Tandoori lobster, chicken biryani and Himalayan momo, all of them were absolutely delicious. The food was full of flavor, the vibes were perfect, and the service was top-notch. Overall, an amazing spot to grab dinner if you’re in the Bar Harbor area. Highly recommended !

The food was very comforting and flavourful. They do the different spice levels very well. The paneer butter masala was a bit sweet but the daal tadka was absolutely phenomenal. The service was fast and good. Highly recommend for the food, price and service!

We picked up food from this restaurant while being on vacation. Our mood was spoiled due to burnt tandoori rotis that were as hard as rubber. Posting a few pics of those rotis. We asked for butter tandoor roti but there was no butter on them. Additionally they messed up the pick up order, we ordered daal tadka and received palak paneer instead. If you look at the photoes palak paneer did not seem to have any palak / spinach in it. It just tasted like a lot of cream and some paneer, it doesn’t even have green color of spinach. We complained about the quality of food and mess up with the order , the attending person said manager will call next day but no one called us.

Food was below average. Momos and pakoras were premade and reheated — both served too quickly to be fresh. The only good, fresh item was the naan.
