One of the nicest places I’ve reviewed in Alabama. Staff was very friendly, the food was very good. The sweet tea is the best in Alabama and that’s saying something! 6:30pm on a Friday night and there was no wait for the meal. I highly recommend the banana pudding. Prices are reasonable. I got the two piece catfish dinner with fries and baked beans. The portion sizes were a little on the small side but I left feeling full and satisfied.

My family and I had a deeply upsetting experience here. We ordered a family meal and sat down to eat, only to be told…very rudely…that we could not eat inside the restaurant. The woman in the light blue shirt told us we were allowed to order, but had to take it to go. We were essentially told to “buy it, then leave.”
We felt disrespected and unwelcome. It was clear that we were not being treated fairly. If this establishment does not want people of color dining inside, that should be made known, and frankly, it should be shut down. I treat everyone with respect, and we did not deserve to be treated this way.
I am extremely disappointed and hurt by this experience. Some things never seem to change..and that’s what makes this even more painful.
I absolutely do NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Update They replied with ALL LIES they never had to go ONLY AND they never ask us to order other items at all again they are rude apparently DISHONEST

I went here with friends tonight and it was delicious. The fried fish reminded me of my dad’s fresh caught-then fried (which has always been very hard to beat in flavor & batter when I order it at restaurants). Everything came out quick, but fresh! Anna was our waitress and we never needed a refill- she made sure we had everything we needed multiple times. The portions are also huge, you will have enough to eat! Great experience!

The best most tasty seafood platters I’ve had out of 5 restaurants I’ve eaten at in Alabama. Less expensive by at least $10 per person. Other restaurants food was so bland and tasteless but David’s Catfish fried foods seasoning hands down the best tasting filets shrimp hushpuppies crab okra and onion rings and fries. They also have steak and burgers and coleslaw. Never greasy tasting just great food. The atmosphere is quiet without music rattling your teeth. They dont serve alcohol which doesn’t bother me in the least. Located in Spanish Fort on Highway 31 east off Route 181.

Our first time here… we had fast, friendly service. Between the two of us we ordered the 3 piece catfish filets, coleslaw & fried okra and buffalo shrimp. Everything was very flavorful, not greasy or heavily battered. All served fresh & hot. The coleslaw was excellent!

It’s been a long time since I ate here. Very good service and some of the best iced tea on the eastern shore. Ordered the lunch portion of the catfish basket, with cole slaw and okra. I thought the lunch portion was at best, skimpy. The fish was tasty, and so was the okra and the obliglitory hush puppies. I can not come up with a reason to order the coleslaw on a future visit.

Food was very salty, shrimp were not fresh! Taste like gas used to preserve frozen shrimp, shrimp were over cooked and they have no idea what broiled shrimp are, no garlic in the butter, salad is from a bag, stale!! Hush puppies were gummy on the inside, absolutely nothing fresh, like fast food seafood, never been before thought we would try it being near our home does not even compare to kravers and oyster house!
