Quick service the only thing was to get help everyone will be in the kitchen or just cleaning. Touchpad ordering does cut communication short which can be a great or bad thing. I ordered a ice tea and the machine ran out to call an employee to help took a minute because again everyone’s elsewhere. You order your food on the touchpad go take a seat and wait to be called. The atmosphere was easygoing menu was simple and so were instructions. Food was as expected simple and tasty.

A very disappointing experience. I’m from out of town and was told that this place was a must try. For starters, the service was really slow. Then when finally received the food, it wasn’t very good. The cheese on the cheese fries seemed old, the burger wasn’t good at all and they forgot to give me the ranch sauce that i had ordered. Barely finished eating the food seeing as it wasn’t very appetizing. Went back for a kit kat milkshake and it saved my experience a little but.

Maybe management should look into standardizing specs regardless of the time of day. Seems to be common at this location that it depends who’s cooking that night.

It took a while for me to share my experience however it’s very important because this was very disappointing. I frequent this location weekly. I normally come through the drive-through I purchase lunch and a shake always the same thing I came in the other day as you see per receipt and it also came in the night before that each experience was different But the same I came in to the restaurant both nights normally I come through the drive-through.
On this particular night, I did not want excessive ice in My cup. Your dispenser only comes on from 3 to 4 seconds so even if you fill your ice cup up Receive a full portion of beverage.
I do want to see your plight with the homeless people and why are your paying customers being penalized for your situation?
People have all kind of reasons why they do not want excessive ice we should not be treated unfairly and rudely.
Your manager explained that the manager that topped off my drink the night prior was wrong for doing so and then spoke over my drink,.. At this point, I lost my appetite and asked for A refund. Which I have not received as of yet”
I am a food protection manager I value the service and the professionalism I bring into the food, industry and My guests . Even if a manager is unable to perform a task due to company policies, that is our obligation to be as courteous and as Accommodating as we can in a respectful kind manner, I do Not appreciate being spoken to like I was stealing a drink, and all I wanted was to top off the drink that I paid for . That is full to the p line of The cup No more no less.
I will be contacting corporate as I tried to resolve this issue in store by one asking for a refund”
2 by asking for a number to contact to resolve the issue as the manager refused to give me the number to contact anyone to help me” I was diligent and received this number, however I believe this manager provided me with an incorrect contact number on purpose”I have uploaded the pictures With the Manager’s handwriting on the back of the receipt of the contact number that he provided that was not in Service? Totally unacceptable!
I will also be contacting whoever is on the back of this receipt about my experience.

Like this place but we drove all the way here since the kids been seeing them advertising labubus on their windows. The kids don’t get a toy at all for their kids meals. I figured at LEAST a fake little stuffed labubu given they have it on 5 of their windows. Just false advertising to get people to go. Poor tactics to get business

Food was ok. It had cooled off sitting on the counter. We didn’t realize it was ready. They dont call your name or anything. I guess you’re spose to wait at the counter when its ready.
I accepted the food, but the men’s bathroom. Both toilets clogged up, no paper towels, just a wreck. Its a shame, steak n shake used to be a nice simple dining option. I guess you either embrace change or try something different instead.

This place used to be my go-to meal spot when i was in the area, but ever since they switched to beef tallow, the food has been disgusting. The burger tastes like it was coated in salt (and is paper thin now), the fries are pure salt, it’s really unappealing. And it’s not just the oil either; the burger buns and cheese are clearly of lower quality than before. Maybe someday ill go to steak n shake again if they change back how they prepare and season their food, but for now steer clear unless you want to feel like you’ve eaten a year’s worth of salt.

This used to be the place to go. It used to have great service. But then covid hit. So everything you once enjoyed is no more. You can only order by kiosk or on your phone. No longer do you have the personal touch. There’s no one there to seat you, but then again, it’s not nearly as crowded as it used to be. When you place your order on the kiosk, it asks you if you would like to leave a tip. A tip for what you may ask yourself. For doing your job? Cause you don’t come out into the dining area
To clean tables, ask if anybody needs refills, and so on. This needs to go back to being waited on.
By servers. I think this is utterly ridiculous. If I wanted to serve myself, I could do that at home and save the money that cost so very much.

Again, i will stress that eating out cost a lot. I don’t know how teenagers or young adults are supposed to go out on a date without both paying. For the cost of dinner and the movies for 2 people? Easily $fifty plus. Oh, and if you would like to add popcorn and a drink with that movie? $70 +

Even though the true soul of this historic establishment that is Steak and Shake nearly has disappeared due to covid (their excuse anyway) we stopped by for lunch while out Christmas shopping. So, you order on a touch screen (real authentic 50’s diner feel, Not)
Even with all the changes, the food was ready quickly, was hot and very tasty. Prices are reasonable, so if you are still craving that classic S & S burger with shoestring fries, you might just give it a try! It is sad that so many people lost server jobs due to this “fast food” rehab. It is supposed to be a 50’s diner, not a McDonald’s.

The food at Steak n Shake is always consistently good which is great to be able to count on. This store was understaffed so orders were coming out slowly. I really miss the table service that used to be part of the experience. I was also frustrated by the ordering experience as I was trying to use a free reward that I received and could not get the system to allow me to redeem it. Since they were short on ppl, no one could really help me with the order system. I must have just messed up.

The ordering process is fully automated here. Customers responsible for entering their own orders. Watched four people have problems with getting what they wanted and trying to figure out how to activate the soda dispenser with the QR code on their receipt.
