First, we had planned on going elsewhere to meet a friend who had to cancel at the last minute. So, we debated a few places before coming here. We were greeted pretty promptly by a very friendly waitress. I was hopeful when we got our drinks very quickly. I did have to wave her down to order an appetizer, which was lucky because we werent able to order our dinner for almost 10 minutes.
By that time, my beer was empty and she brought another as requested very quickly. The food was also about as fast as expected and was good as we have had previously.
However, our waitress seemed very over tasked. She seemed very competent and observant, although my second beer sat empty for a while and she never asked about another. I noticed she seemed to be the only person waiting on about half the restaurant. So, I wont blame one person for a lack of management by others.
Also, the place was freezing. I doubt it was over 70 degrees and it mightve been colder. My wife couldn’t wait to leave. Our bill with a 22% tip was about $82.00 for fried pickle appetizer, a shrimp plate, Ceasar salad and a couple beers. That simply doesn’t seem like a very good value adding to an over-worked staff; thus poor service.
This place used to be a good option for a meal, but we likely wont be back to find out if it will be again.
Let’s start with the watered down drinks. My friend sent back the cucumber drink that had right and club soda because the drink was extremely flat. I ordered an espresso martini the martini was missing in order to make the drink work. I had to order an additional shot of Kahlúa to actually give it that flavor that your custom of seeing an espresso martini.
From a food perspective, I ordered chicken tenders and got chicken nuggets. The chicken tenders at Chick-fil-A was more hearty than what I paid for at this restaurant. The Parmesan fries were good. The mac & cheese was got awful with no taste. It was truly awful. No amount of seasoning could save that dish. We tried to add salt to the dish but the salt was more like sea salt instead of table salt which definitely made it worst.
The trio was unique, spicy salsa, good queso and very unique guacamole, I couldn’t get enough. The service was attentive and good.
Wings came reccomended but I had the Mahi tacos and very fulfilling. The rice that comes with it unique and delicious. The seafood tower salad pretty cool and also good.
Will definitely come back, but great good.
