The Cottage has a fun vibe with live entertainment. Good food and drinks and just an all around solid atmosphere where you’re almost guaranteed to have a great experience. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but their stand out must try is the lobster bisque. The burgers are also excellent.

Joe and Chad were amazing tonight behind the bar! The Cottage was totally slammed but they didn’t miss a beat. We got the cauliflower appetizer which was recommended by other guests. It did not disappoint. Then we got the Billion dollar burger and grouper sandwich. Everything was perfect. Thank you for another lovely evening on the Key!
We went back to find Chad and Lizard behind the bar and and electric violinist playing great music. We had the Billion dollar burger and grouper sandwich again. Another great evening!

Really great food! I started with the short rib bites, Amazing!! The combination of flavors is incredible!! I then had there Caesar Salad with blackened Grouper, the Grouper was really fresh and delicious. Homemade Caesar dressing has good depth in flavor and the broken crispy homemade cheese bites are a flavor bomb!! My wife had the Forbidden Rice and the Marinaded Tofu and asparagus which was really good. Chad our bartender is very polite and on top of his game!!!

First time visiting this location, and it definitely won’t be the last. We ordered a large amount of food—probably 10 to 12 items plus dinner—and everything was handled smoothly. The staff was on point, and the owner/manager was very courteous, respectful, and genuinely engaging with customers. Without a doubt, I would definitely return and recommend this place.

We were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the Plantains off the Tapas menu. They were served with crispy cancha (corn nuts), chimichurri, and huancaina sauces. I had the Black Mussels for my entrée and my husband had the Diver Sea Scallops. I also ordered a side of Truffle Fries because why not?! Every single dish was delicious!! Our waitress, Monica, was attentive, knowledgeable, warm, and friendly! We will definitely request her again if we ever come back this way. 10/10 recommend!!

A group of six of us who visit regularly to Siesta Key went tonight to The Cottage for dinner. We were happy to wait for over an hour as we had heard good things from friends. Initially our meal started great, food was quick and delicious but our server was very poor. She was absent most of our meal, even asked another server to ask her to come over and refill our water and never saw her. We asked to speak to the manager and let him know about the poor service despite the great food. While walking out I walked right by he waitress and they were complaining to her fellow coworkers about the situation. We asked to speak to the manager again – explaining that what she could of took as a learning moment from her manager, she made worse. The lack of accountability and making it right by her and the manager was very disappointing. We won’t be back with how we were treated during our meal and by how the waitress and management failed to handle the situation once brought to their attention. There was no offer to compensate our meal or provide any future gift certificate to try them again. Service is an important part of the experience. Talking negative about customers to other wait staff should not ever be tolerated. Very disappointing as we regularly are in Siesta Key along with our family.

I really wish I would’ve gone to this restaurant the first night of my vacation rather than the last, they really blow all of the other spots out of the water in terms of food quality, flavor, and service.
The wagyu beef tapa, the anticucho, was a Peruvian style dish with melt in your mouth steak.
The tempura shrimp were also delicious. Big giant prawns in light batter with a sweet and tangy sauce over a light refreshing coleslaw.
Joe and Chad were warm and inviting and easy to chat with.

Fantastic food! Visiting Sarasota for the winter and this place never disappoints – Ceviche was incredible! Wagyu skewers hit perfect! Thank goodness this place hasn’t left

We had a very large party and service was still fantastic. Scallops, tempura shrimp, poke bowl , grouper sandwich and scampi were all excellent. But the best thing we had hands down was the lobster bisque and the lobster sushi roll. May be the best of both that I’ve ever eaten and I have eaten a lot of bisque! Prices aren’t cheap but this is a “you get what you pay for” kind of situation. Highly recommended!!

I recently visited The Cottage and had a pleasant experience overall. The staff was friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was good. The plating was nice, but the garnishes on several plates looked a bit tired and not as fresh as I would have hoped. That slightly took away from the visual appeal of the meal. It was an okay dining experience. Worth a try if you’re nearby and want a casual bite in a nice setting.
