We visited Red Hawk Spur in Plumstead on my brother’s birthday and it was the perfect treat! All he wanted was a legendary Spur Milkshake and their classic Waffle and Ice Cream, which did not disappoint. The highlight of his day, though, was when the incredible staff came over to sing Happy Birthday to him – their energy really made him feel special!
I had a rack of Spur Ribs, and they were mouth-watering, succulent, and cooked to perfection. The food is always delicious and so affordable.
Thank you to the team for the great service and for making my brother’s birthday one to remember!

Daughter and I went to plumstead spur. I ordered her birthday meal and my meal. With a caramel milkshake. I received a chocolate milkshake instead. I told the waitress but I didn’t want to send it back and waste. Then the manager brings my food. Dry onion rings and my daughter’s burger was raw. The manager comes back and she takes my daughter’s food but doesn’t apologise. She comes back and offers a chicken burger for my daughter and STILL no apology. I am extremely disappointed. What a waste of time and complete disappointment for my daughter’s birthday. The manager then apologises when I walk out. I said that was the FIRST thing she should’ve said. Horrible service.

I must say, there is a huge change at Red Hawk Spur Plumstead, tonight for the first time after a few years now have we experience awesome service. The Staff is friendly, the atmosphere was just beautiful tonight. I would like to Thank Vuyo the Branch Manager aswell as our waiter Anita for such splendid service rendered. To the Kitchen Staff, the food was fantastic, please keep up the good work so that many more customers can walk out that Branch with such a huge smile as our family did tonight.

Spur is still the best value for money in South Africa. At Spur you know what you getting for your money. I love this Spur and my kids free up there. They have done great upgrades to this place. Food is good, service always on par. Too many places charging high prices for below quality food but not at Spur. You never dissapointed at the Spur and I feel they dont get enough credit. Thank you Spur for always being there for us.

I had an issue with my food the last time I was here and I contacted Nelson the manager. As a pensioner, my sister and I appreciate our spare ribs to fall off the bone. And it wasn’t up to the standard we were used to. But Nelson told us to come again and he would make sure our ribs would be perfect. I’m busy eating the ribs right now and it is the best I have ever had. So happy we can trust the team at Spur to deliver whenever called upon. Thank you to Nelson and his very friendly and professional team.

I went there to have a mere burger and a drink , did I not wait for 10-15 minutes to get assistance from a waiter ? And when he gets to my table “sorry sir I was finishing my food” I ordered food and a drink…had to wait another 15min just for double Jameson and tonic really!!!! Mind you this is happening while there is not even one customer in a restaurant….after this I decided to tip them for “Poor 5 star” experience
