At our Richmond, VA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The staff was excellent. Unfortunately they gave me two containers of tartar sauce that had seperated and looked nasty. I couldnt even mix it back up. In addition my son found several hairs in his tartar sauce, and a piece of chicken that he couldnt chew to the point of swallowing. The workers were very nice and the food was exactly as expected for a fast meal. I deducted one star because it could’ve been a little cleaner. The trays the food was served on were dirty and the restaurant just seemed in need of a thorough cleaning.

The food is good for the most part and the workers are friendly. Every now and then you may have an order that’s slighly cold or the quality isn’t up to par. But it’s not often. What I absolutely can’t STAND about this location is the wait time. You could be the only person in the drive thru, it doesn’t matter. You’re still gonna wait forever to get your food. Same thing if you order inside. I’m not sure why it takes so long to order. It’s gotten so bad that I can’t even eat there anymore because I’m always late from my break because it takes ridiculously long to get food.

This is my big fish sandwich… and my battered fish was slimy and doughy very nasty and the lady at the window was rude the tartar sauce smells like it’s been sitting in the refrigerator for about three months it stunk so bad it had this horrific odor coming from it the chicken tenders we’re so hard I thought I broke one of my teeth!!!
