Lee’s Tavern is a staple on Staten Island, and for good reason. The pizzas are among the crown jewels of Staten Island, and the bar itself is just a classic, cozy, hole in the wall kind of place.
We had fried calamari, an Italian shredded pork hero, a white clam pie, and a regular pie (half with sweet peppers). The calamari was great. It was fried perfectly and the hot marinara sauce was really good with a nice kick. The pork hero was very basic, and though it lacked a bit in flavor, the ingredients all tasted very fresh and the cheese was melted very nicely, I enjoyed it quite a bit. The pies at Lee’s speak for themselves. The white clam pie is delicious, it’s a perfect balance of garlic, cheese, and that classic Italian clam taste. The regular pie is also just so fundamentally perfect. It’s crisp, thin, and the sauce is perfect.
The service at Lee’s is also exceptional with extremely friendly staff. My only complaint would be that Lee’s is cash only, though they do have an ATM inside. The pizza more than makes up for the cash only rule though.

We stopped in for a quick beer and a snack during a day trip to Staten Island. The small bar-sized clam pizza (white sauce) and fried calamari were both great. Everything was very affordable and the server was super nice. Would recommend

I had an amazing experience at Lee’s Tavern! The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options that cater to all tastes. Every dish I tried was flavorful and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional—friendly and attentive without being intrusive, making me feel well taken care of. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual night out or a special occasion. What’s not to like. Such a classic SI spot. The bar full of locals, tasty bar pies and a decent selection of beer!
I was running an errand in the area and I’m not normally (or really ever in SI) this came up on a few reddit threads as a well likes SI pizza joint and it did not disappoint.

Staten style tavern pie..much better than Joe & Pats, and up there with Deninos as best pizza on the island. Can’t miss with the red onion and pepperoni. Half and half calamari is a must every time.

This is the best pizzeria on Staten Island and one of the best pizzerias in NYC. It has a traditional old school vibe that makes the atmosphere that much better.
Now time for the pie. Thin crust, perfect crisp, made to perfection. Whichever pie you choose to order you won’t be disappointed, my personal favorite is the white clam pie, It is absolutely delicious. I also like to order their calamari as an appetizer, it is really good, and don’t forget the beer, it with the pizza.

Their crust is super thin and crisp! Clam pie was generously topped with clam, we got half white half red!

This is an old gem to the boro of Staten. Expect a wait sometimes but worth waiting for. All the food is prepared fresh and to order. If you like thin crusted pizza this is the spot! On weekends it’s always packed but that’s what makes it so special, the people, the staff and great food. The atmosphere is warm and inviting especially on cold winter nights. Cash only but they do have an atm.
