This used to be our go-to spot, but sadly, between the unpleasant lady at the window and the skyrocketing prices, we go elsewhere now.

The vaunted fish tacos, now mostly dry and flavorless, come from a huge box of frozen fillets (I’ve seen it) that are much smaller than they used to be, and the tacos are $5.50 each. I saw an Instagram reel the other day and they must have used a stunt fillet, cuz they aren’t that big.

I ordered four fish tacos for the family one Taco Tuesday during the narrow sale window and got stinkeye from the lady, like I was going to resell them or something.

A basic bean & cheese burrito is now nine bucks. NINE BUCKS. Seriously? I just saw that the owner responded to another review, saying prices haven’t gone up in three years. That’s not true and the internet has receipts. And it’s not like we’re paying extra for the view of the Shell station.

This place needs a complete overhaul.

Hands down, the BEST fish and shrimp tacos I’ve ever had! Every bite is packed with flavor, and the fish is perfectly crispy on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside. The shrimp tacos are just as amazing—plump, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with freshness.
Not only are the tacos fantastic, but the overall experience is top-notch. The staff is super friendly, the service is quick, and the vibe of the place is always welcoming. I honestly can’t recommend this spot enough for anyone craving authentic, mouth-watering Mexican food.
If you’re in Garden Grove, make sure you stop by Los Cotijas. You won’t regret it

Pros:
They now accept credit/debit cards, and the takeout boxes look nice (the problem is what goes inside them).

Cons:
Everything else. Since they started accepting cards, the food quality has gone downhill. The salsas are now served in small packets and taste very processed. Yes, the presentation looks good, including how the food is packaged to go, but the food itself gets a 1 out of 10 from me.

It’s really disappointing because I used to love coming here for their fish tacos with the homemade red salsa. and my kids used to loved the asada fries. Now I’d rather drive 20 more minutes to get good fish tacos than come back here. To bad cause your location is really close from my house!

The meeting was sour and was possibly spoiled. The side of guacamole was black and slimy. This place sucks that quality is horrible. Do not eat here, not safe to eat the food unless you want food poisoning.

Out of all the taco shops I been to this one was my least favorite. The fish taco was definitely not the best in the oc. It lacked flavor. The tacos were ok at best. The chicken was so salty I couldn’t eat it. And the burrito was dry. It definitely was worth almost 40.

Quick stop for tacos after watching a movie. Little hole in the wall joint with some amazing hot sauce!

I ordered 2 crispy tacos, 1 chicken and 1 shredded beef. The chicken taco was stuffed with chicken, lettuce cheese and tomato. Lots of chicken but it had no flavor. Had to add their red hot sauce, which is delicious. Definitely kicked it up a notch.

The shredded beef taco also came with lettuce, tomato and cheese. Not as much meat as the chicken taco but it had decent flavor.

My one friend got the fish taco and a carnitas soft taco. She says both were delicious.

My second friend got a cheese enchilada and taco plate with rice & beans. I tried the rice and beans and got a taste of the enchilada sauce. The sauce was sweet, more like mole. Not sure I would have liked it on an enchilada.

I would take my hubby back to try it.

Still searching for the best tacos in OC!

Their sign stating they make the best fish tacos in Orange County isn’t lying. They by far are the best fish tacos around. Their other food is solid as well.

Been going here for 20+ years. Still the best fish tacos in OC. Fish tacos 10/10. Guac 4/10. Wasn’t impressed. Carne asada was also a bit dry. But stick with the fish tacos and you won’t be disappointed! They also just started taking card a year ago which was great.
