The fajitas were good and the place is nice. The salsa has a little kick which I absolutely loved. Service was top notch.
My only negative is the dried lemon and lime they put in my margarita.

Visiting the Shenandoah area, we decided to stay in Woodstock, VA. We decided on a whim to give this restaurant a try. The food was absolutely wonderful! The flavor, portion and pricing were all on point. This has been by far one of the tastiest Mexican restaurants I have found exploring this area. We went back right before they closed for fried ice cream. I was a little confused of the fried ice cream was rolled in cornflakes, as I have always had it with a crisp brown sugar coating. The presentation of the dessert was fun and festive, and we enjoyed it regardless in a new to us version. Thank you for your hospitality ✌ #Woodstock #VirginiaIsForLovers ❤️

Roomy restaurant with an authentic feel. Accessible parking, entrance, and seating. Nice outdoor dining space. Lovely waitstaff. The enchiladas were very good, with tasty gound beef and sauce with a slightly sweet, lightly spiced flavor. The taco had a light crunch and ground beef that was lightly seasoned. The rice and beans were perfect. The tamale was a bit overcooked on the ends. The food is overall great. It has its own flavor, different from others, but quite enjoyable. Prices fair, plenty of parking. Close to I-81. Woodstock.

I’ve stopped at Las Trancas twice now from my drive from Smoky mountains back to NJ. It’s a pleasure to stop by.

The chips and salsa they give you is killer. The salsa has a good zip, and texture. The belle of the ball was the molcajete. It came out in a hot stone bowl, filled with shrimp, steak, chicken, pork, maybe barbacoa and pork. It was tremendous and about 3 meals in one. Absolutely tasty. We had the flautas and enchiladas which were awesome. Las Trancas has amazing food. It’ll be my stop every time I’m in the area

Tried the Grio Trio. Steak and chicken were both dry and extremely chewy, lacking seasoning and flavor. The chorizo looked and tasted like the kind you can buy in a tube at the grocery store. The rice and beans were bland and cold, the cheese didn’t even melt on top of the beans…portion sizes were some of the smallest I’ve seen at any similar Mexican restaurant. Would not recommend.

We were here in Jan. 2025 and food was so salty we could barely eat it. We both had different dishes. Service was good though. Won’t return due to salt overload.

I’ve been here twice now. The food is not that good, the chips are stale and broken, the horchata did not taste like it had any rice or cinnamon in it, the tacos were very expensive for what I got. The cheese dip was cold with chunks of unmelted cheese in it. The service is ok. Overall it’s overpriced and very mediocre food at best.

Mexican food is my go-to. This place carries a good authentic meaning with a modern-day twist. The beer is good and the service is great. I like the food options in which I try different things every time I go. Definitely worth a shot for first-timers. Give it a shot, you won’t regret it.

This restaurant was recommended to us by two different area hotel staff. We had early dinner but the place started to quickly fill up. When we left, the big parking lot was almost completely full. So maybe I am missing something. My chicken fajita was quite bland and the meat was on the dry side. I was disappointed.
