Edit as of Feb2019: Coming up on our one year anniversary of finding this gem! After our first trip this restaurant quickly became our favorite go to! We have now tried most of the menu, everything is becoming our new favorite! Some of our personal favorite starters: Saganaki, Lobster Cargot and the Spinach & Artichoke dip. For the regular entrees: Scallion Encrusted Fillet of Sole, the Gourmet Fish & Chips is very similar and fantastic. The Coconut Ship is a very generous portion and fresh! Pecan Chicken is one of their most talked about meals. And the Ribs are out of this world tender and tasty with no fat or tough parts! If we see any of the following on their Special menu we get it no questions asked: Lasagna, Cauliflower, and the Apple Chicken I believe it’s called! Perfect for stopping by on a night you don’t want to cook or a special occasion! Every single staff member is so unique and friendly, they truly go the extra mile to make your experience here a great one! If I don’t have something pictured below it’s because we ate it so fast!
The ambience allowed me to feel connected with the experience I believe they were trying to convey.
Although they are short staffed. Everything came out hot, prepared well, with their very own twist on the menu items. With well timing as well.
I have walked the back of the house previously. As I have considered working in their kitchen before. So I can guarantee you that the kitchen is up to standard, and is kept clean and organized to my very picky standards. Which is why I chose them today.
We went for Drinks and Dessert but I had to try more! The menu truly speaks for itself, but with options like they have it’s hard not to try them!
Tonight’s experience included:
Apple Cinnamon Hot Tea.
Which you choose your tea from a black box that is brought to your table for the experience to be even more inclusive. A great option that made me feel like I was in a warm cabin. It made me feel comfy, while taking our time talking and enjoying our night.
The Calamari- Which was breaded perfectly and fried to a golden crisp that made it truly exciting to look at. It’s fresh tasting and the sauce had a perfect balance!
After that I had to think, because I was completely torn with some of the options we were given. So our server presented us with a bread basket while I decided and the bread sticks and fresh bread were such an added treat! The oil and herbs were perfect with the bread and the bread sticks. Really allowing me to have some separation for my pallet too.
So after careful consideration I chose to get the
Pecan Chicken Salad
Sun-dried cranberries and apricots, walnuts, honey dijon dressing.
But I asked for a raspberry vinaigrette to try with it as well. Because I am wild and love a good salad dressing. But let me be honest, the salad stands on its own. The Honey Dijon was so perfectly matched with this salad. I tried the vinaigrette and it was not suitable. It just wasn’t meant for it. Hence why we should stick to menus in places like this. So I gladly had only put this dressing on a small portion of my salad. Which then wasn’t my favorite, so I went with the Dijon that is served with the salad. LET ME TELL YOU. I sat there. Like the difference in flavor and all when you switched those. Took me! I was flabbergasted as I tasted the (what I believe to be) the pecan crusted chicken on my salad to match so well with the combination. The apricots were then the highlight of the dish with the Dijon, but the apples added the needed freshness throughout it. I wish there had been some more pecans, but other than that. It was outstanding!
Moving into Dessert, They are like a long time favorite of mine, Pasquale’s where the dessert is all showcased on a tray and brought to your table to see the dessert options available for the evening.
The Turtle Cheese cake looked amazing and Jillian said it was so rich and creamy and one of my favorite things she said tonight was “Wow that was a thiiick cheesecake!” Which I was fond to hear!
I ordered the Lava cake with vanilla ice cream. It was a great end to the night! The lava cake was soft and fluffy and really paired well with the whipped cream and ice cream they served!
All in all, the experience was great. They have a great staff that continues to make sure you’re taken care of over a span of time. We were there for 2 hours today just catching up. It was so nice having this moment with a friend in a place I can trust the quality of food and even presentation. While truly feeling at ease.
Would recommend and will be returning. ⭐️
