We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Inn at Seventh Ray, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely hostess who exuded a vibrant energy, reminiscent of a glamorous Lady Gaga. Her warmth and enthusiasm set the perfect tone for the evening.
The staff, from the busboy to our waiter, were nothing short of exceptional. Our waiter was energetic, knowledgeable, and charming, making us feel incredibly welcomed in this mystical paradise. Surrounded by nature’s beauty, with waterfalls, enchanting lights, and the soothing sounds of frogs singing in the background, the atmosphere felt like stepping into a dream.
The wine list was extensive and truly impressive, making it easy to find the perfect pairing for our meal. Although the bar offerings were more limited, the quality of the wine made up for it entirely.
For our meal, we shared the octopus and truffle risotto, both of which were delectable. How can you not love truffles! The dissected Caesar salad and goat cheese salad with apples were refreshing choices that perfectly complemented our appetizers. For our entrees, we indulged in scallops, filet mignon, salmon, and rigatoni ragu — each dish was simply delicious!
We were sooooo full we skipped dessert, unfortunately, but we definitely plan to indulge next time as we are already looking forward to our return visit. This enchanting restaurant with cascading creek, singing frogs and a romantic ambiance is a hidden gem right in the heart of topanga / hop skip and a jump from Calabasas Malibu or Santa Monica. I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking not just a meal, but a complete sensory experience. With such remarkable food and a captivating atmosphere, I can’t wait to create more cherished memories on our next trip! Inn at Seventh Ray is a must!

This is a dreamy place to come celebrate a special night. Nestled in topanga canyon right along a creek. The music, candles and atmosphere are calming. You can rent a gazebo outside or sit next to the fountain, or inside in front of the fireplace. So many different corners to enjoy.

It’s incredibly romantic. And The food! Every food item we have ever ordered is exceptional.

Two favorite meals are filet Mignon and braised short ribs. The best dessert is the chocolate cake.

The service is great. Calm and professional, but open, talkative and down to earth. Also, check out the store right after dinner!

Had a wonderful time at the Inn of the Seventh Ray. We came right at opening for brunch on a Monday, and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Beautiful nature overlooking a creek, with a very small section inside with a fireplace. My husband got the duck bacon omelette, which was absolutely outstanding. The duck was sweet and chewy, and absolutely amazing in the omelette. I had seen the brunch menu online and noticed that it had a goat cheese frittata which seemed right up my alley, but unfortunately it is only served on weekends. I decided to get a broccolini asparagus omelette, and opted to add bacon to the omelette. My omelette was a bit dry, and not super impressive, but the side salad and fingerling potatoes were PHENOMENAL! We also got the truffle fries, which were super crispy, though they could have had a little more flavor.

For drinks, I tried the strawberry papaya juice, which was very thick, (think smoothie like consistency) and much more papaya than strawberry. But my husband got the lavender lemonade, which was very good. We also got a lavender mimosa which was also delicious.

All and all, the food was incredible, even if I wasn’t the biggest fan of my omelette, everything else more than made up for it. Five stars for the food and incredible atmosphere and service!

A gem that we found while staying in Santa Monica. I do wish we would have been there at night to see it lit up under the umbrellas but had other reservations. The Inn of the Seventh Ray was adorable and so peaceful. We were blown away by the layout and the nice table we had by the creek with a small waterfall at our back. Our lunch was fabulous I had the panini and it was great my husband enjoyed his meal as well. It is a must see if visiting the area.

What a quaint and charming restaurant! I came here for lunch on a weekday and the atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing. Having lunch surrounded by shady trees, running water, and leafy greenery is just such a pleasant experience. The pasta arriabata was amazing – creamy sauce, sweet and acidic tomatoes, and perfectly textured noodles. The potatoes had great seasoning, and the brown rice bowl was so fresh and had delicious kimchi. Can’t ask for a better or more cozy romantic place for a meal~

We ordered the Pasta Arrabbiata, and it was a great choice.
The creamy sauce had a slight spicy kick, and the flavor was really good. The portion was generous, and the pasta was perfectly cooked.

I also had the Bitburger non-alcoholic beer, which paired well with the meal.
The cafe has a beautiful view and a relaxing atmosphere, making it a perfect place to enjoy a slow, peaceful lunch.

There are also a few vintage clothing stores nearby, and a small shop right next to the restaurant that sells unique items and books definitely worth exploring after your meal.

A phenomenal meal made even better with a gorgeous ambience and scenery. The food was delicious. (I recommend the six hour slow cooked short answered me rib with a nice heaping of mashed potatoes). The desserts were also to die for and the service was attentive and quick.

Most of all you feel like you are in a tucked away corner of LA and you really feel the spiritual elements that make the end a special place for any occasion. Whether you are sitting under an old tree or in one of the beautiful chandelier raised gazebos, you’ll have a magnificent experience.

My husband and I just celebrated our wedding here September 6,2025 and there are no words for how magical this place is. We had 75 guests celebrate with us on the Fountain Patio and Amanda with her team (Mariya, Krystal, and Karla) made the day stress free and unforgettable. The venue is accommodating, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful. We had the pleasure of getting ready and staying the evening at The Amethyst Inn next door and I highly recommend for weddings or even just staying the night! Amanda, Mariya, Krystal, and Karla were always checking in and really did give us a worry-free evening as well as the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen (although I may be a little biased). We even had the pleasure of enjoying brunch the next day!

Came here for my 35th birthday dinner with my family (12/14/25). While the food was good, service was really bad. We had to wait a significant time for a host to come to the front to check us in. Our server was inattentive, did not check on us, and did not provide good service (other people ran out food for him). I would come back because the food was good and the ambiance was so pretty, but I felt really disappointed that this was the experience we had. My birthday wasn’t acknowledged, I asked to order a second drink and the waiter brought me a second cocktail of what I had been drinking and then walked away… I had only stated I wanted to order a second drink (I wanted a lemonade). At $25 a drink, I should have said I didn’t want it but I felt really awkward and like I was inconveniencing him by asking for the bare minimum service. At a $500 bill and an hour drive to check this restaurant out, I was hoping to enjoy the experience and left feeling displeased with my birthday celebration.
