We had our last meal in Malaga at Sergio’s place. It was the best meal we had of our two weeks in Spain. One of us is celiac and was treated with the best regards to ensure the food was safe for her to eat. The meat is beyond good – it melts in your mouth and the chef’s passion for real smokehouse BBQ shines through in every bite. If you are in Malaga, pay them a visit! We arrived at 21h on a Sunday with a reservation, surprisingly it was very quiet (it was the end of October). We were greeted by Jorge who spoke excellent English and before we even sat down he was setting the atmosphere and providing a true customer experience. Long story short, the service was matched with superb food. Top class BBQ selection with exquisite execution. Cocktails, beer, BBQ, brilliant service and chefs who clearly take pride in their craft. This is a must visit restaurant. Thank you so much from the trés hermanos irlandeses.

All right, this one goes in English, for any tourist or visitor coming to the city! I’m a local but I’ve traveled along the world to many places and eaten in multiple venues in different cities.
If you think you know about BBQ, think twice. Rub’s will raise your meat loving level beyond your expectations. It’s a gem in a fish city.
For visitors who has traveled: it’s on the level of Franklins in Texas (been there, done that), touching the point of Snows (watch Netflix Chef’s Table: BBQ).
Beside food, the team will take care of you like if you were at home. And the owner best definition is: a super-endearing person!

We came here after we read good review, but I did not expect such great experience. First, first approach (owner) who greet us, was so kind, he made us feel so welcomed. Also he give us his time&suggestions about food and it was far beyond excellent. Maybe the best meal that we had in long time generally. 10/10

Amazing food, high quality meat and very expertly prepared.
Highly recommend starting with the croquetas, which were delicious.
Good selection of wines and had a nice cocktail.

The owners George and Sergio really welcomed us into the restaurant, so friendly!
The food was unbelievable, we had the Beef Brisket which was cooked for 18 hours.. The wife had pulled pork which tasted just as good, my son had a burger and really enjoyed it.
Would recommend this place to anyone who likes meat and smoked food. Sergio even gave me some advice for my Ninja Woodfire Smoker at home on the Brisket.
Can’t speak highly enough of the people and the restaurant.
A must visit.

Easily the best food we had during our stay in Malaga and that’s saying something as we generally had really great food.
The owner created an impromptu taster menu hitting all the highlights. Bacon and brisket croquettes, two types of taco, pork belly and the magnificent brisket which was the star dish. I’ve had brisket all over the world and this was the best I ever had.
The passion for the best ingredients treated with amazing attention to detail in the preparation really shone through. In addition a great wine selection at reasonable prices made for a fabulous evening.

The only real BBQ in Malaga. Amazing experience. The owner had time to tell us all about the menu, we also have one gluten allergic in our gang, and he explained in detail how he run the kitchen, regarding allergie issues.
And now to the food. Amazing does not cover it. B E Y O N D amazing. The owner put together a sharing menu for us with brisket, spareribs, coleslaw, fries and sauted red onion. And just to verify the tenderness, you can’t use only the fork to get the meat in your mouth. The meat just fell apart and melted in my mouth.
The taste of the meat.. oh my.. the special rub, combined with BBQ sauce, honey and timian sauce was so incredible balanced and tasteful that I was left speechless.
I can only recommend this fantastic restaurant, the food and the service.

We were quite so excited about going to this restaurant. The food was very good. I suppose I was expecting more relaxed diner and it’s quite a modern decoration. The bathroom was way too dark. I think the owner is trying very hard – if I had to change something I would make the famous pastrami brisket smaller, maybe charge 24€ take some meat off the sandwich ….and it needed more pickles – which were delicious and not present enough. I’m from New York so I’m very critical. The sandwich is enough for two people here in the Mediterranean. So if you think each 1/2 sandwich is €14, it’s a good deal. Otherwise, they are passionate about their food . PS Don’t eat anything in the morning go very hungry.
