Cuantos is the holy grail of Austin tacos. I have tried many tacos over the past 30 years living in Texas and these are the best. My favorites are the Suadero(Brisket)and Cachete(Barbacoa) but you will not find a less than delicious taco at the place. They are smaller, so I recommend ordering two to three depending how hungry you are. Bonus tip, get the pinto beans with pork!

Heard these were the best tacos in town so had to check it out! Love that a food truck won a Michelin recognition. The tacos were amazing. We tried the matamoros special (4 steak w avocado), 1 Suadero, 1 cachete, and 1 carnitas. Honestly not sure which was which but they were all great!!
Didn’t have to wait too long but it was a bit chilly and not very busy

Cuantos Tacos is easily one of the best taco spots in Austin. The flavors are super authentic — rich, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and served on soft handmade tortillas. The carnitas and suadero are must-tries, and everything comes out fast and fresh. It’s a small, no-frills setup but the food absolutely delivers. Great prices, great vibes, and genuinely some of the best Mexico City–style tacos you can get in ATX. A definite stop every time I’m in Austin.

Absolute gem of a spot for tacos. Was in town and the cashier at a store recommended this place. Asked her if she was leaving town tomorrow what spot would she go to. She was not wrong. Place is small but service is quick. Staff is friendly. Tacos are small and they’re right each taco is about 2-3 bites. The 6 tacos was the perfect amount. Salsas wee excellent too. Tables are open and shared so come with friends or take the risk of not having a table.

Came to Cuantos on a San Antonio-Austin trip from multiple friends’ recommendations – and so glad we did!

Cuantos Tacos is a truck located in the larger food truck park, with ample parking and picnic tables – two portapotties also.

We came around 6pm on Grand Prix Friday in Austin and didn’t wait long. Staff were super fast and friendly. I ordered the beef cheek and pork stomach tacos, and they were SO packed with flavor. I would have ordered more if I wasn’t so full from the day’s BBQ. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth, and the tacos really respect the ingredients, they don’t fuss with extraneous toppings.

All in all, will definitely come back to Cuantos – hopefully again this trip!

This was my first meal in Austin and it absolutely smashed. Cuantos is a food truck around a lot of other food trucks and a shaded area with benches.

I ordered one of each taco, and every single one of them was delicious. The mushroom taco was definitely the most unique, and the stomach was my favorite. The sauces are also wonderful- there’s a spicy brown sauce and a tasty green one.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

S/o to my partner for finding this hidden gem! I ordered the barbacoa quesadillas with two carnitas tacos. Both tasted authentic and were incredibly delicious. I will be coming back here and spreading the word about it!! Very nice atmosphere too and the prices aren’t bad at all.

I had a great experience at Cuantos Tacos in Austin. I tried the champiñones tacos and a costra, and both were delicious—juicy, flavorful, and packed with a good balance of cilantro and seasoning. Be prepared though: these are definitely on the wetter, messier side (I’d call them “sloppy tacos”), so grab some extra napkins.

Friends I was with had the suadero tacos and also raved about them—some even said they were the best tacos they’ve ever had. The fresh lime, green and red salsas, and a cold Mexican Coke really tied it all together. Authentic, flavorful, and worth the stop.
