Small-Town Classic With Big Flavor and Heart

Walking into The Lemon Drop feels like stepping back in time—in the best way. The bright yellow exterior, vintage counter seating, and little train circling above set the perfect retro diner vibe.

We came for the Onion Burger, and it blew us away. Thin, smashed patties with grilled onions seared right in—juicy, crispy, and full of flavor.

The atmosphere is casual and friendly, and the service makes you feel like a regular—even on your first visit. And the prices? Hard to beat. Full meals under $10 are rare these days.

Note to the owner:
Thanks for keeping this spot so authentic. In a world of chain restaurants, The Lemon Drop is something special—nostalgic, local, and full of heart. We’ll be back—and bringing friends.

(And yes, we grabbed a lemon drop on the way out. Perfect touch.)

Glad we went! Why on earth would anyone go to crappy McDonald’s when this place is in town?! Super tasty burgers! Got a double onion burger and fries.. everything was delicious and atmosphere was really nice and friendly… will definitely be going back

The food is outstanding here! You cannot go wrong with the classic trio: the onion burgers are excellent, the fries are exactly what you want for diner style french fries, and the milkshakes are the perfect finish—thick, creamy and delicious! The onion rings were also great. Beyond the incredible food, the whole experience made it feel like we time traveled to the 1950s! Highly recommended.

What a GREAT little place!!
Full of history and love, with no pretense or sales pitch.
Just great food in a small town joint that’s been there nearly as long as our lives, since 1954!
We detoured miles from the highway to try them based on their reviews and were bowled over by the welcome, the food and the locals who see few folks from out of town, I’d bet.
I loved the Onion Burger, the Onion Rings and the wonderful staff working.
Small, busy, delicious and welcoming!!
I bought a T-shirt, their story is just a wonderful thing to share along with their great, simple menu.
‘Love in the pot’ comes to mind, Thank You, Lemon Drop!! The little train running around the room near the ceiling a nice touch.
Recommended!!

This is a fun little restaurant that seems very well loved by Anderson locals. We went at 2:30 and luckily found 2 stools together at the counter. Even at that time on a Monday afternoon, every seat was taken. The service was good and all the staff were extremely friendly. I am giving 4 stars for the food. I had a bowl of chili and a hamburger. DH had an onion burger and ff. The menu is somewhat limited, and the food was average. This place is really more about the history and uniqueness of the building than the food. We would most certainly return and try the tenderloin and a shake!

The food is just mediocre and the Coke tasted flat and flavorless. The onion rings were terrible. You figured they would be good since they’ve been making them since 1954. The service and atmosphere were good. Skip this place and spend your hard earned money on a restaurant that serves tasty food. We won’t be back.
