First time in Zionsville for dinner and the drive was short coming from downtown Indy. It was a cold night and we were able to find parking right by the back door. The first impression was interesting because it looks like a house but inside is a spacious restaurant with a honky-tonk vibe. Decor had a southwest color scheme. The hostess was welcoming. We were served with the Winter Devour 3 course menu: 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert for $25, plus $6 Margaritas. I had 2 mini chemistry, a burrito bowel and we all had the State Fair Nachos. The food was plentiful, flavorful and hot. Last but not least, consider reservation during peak hours. We will return!

Let me preface. If I could give a 4.5/5, I absolutely would. The service wasn’t bad, but it was incredibly slow–two hours by the time we entered and left.
I got to check this place out on a work trip… The food was incredible (apart from the chicken nachos–they were good… But compared to the rest of the items we got, sub-par).
That said, the bites were incredible. Get the Bazooka Jane.

The Mahi tacos were very hard/firm and extra fishy tasting. The corn empanada was amazing. The nachos with steak etc were amazing. They very carefully made kids quesadilla with loght cheese for my kid. The al pastor taco tastes and has texture like chicken…. so very mixed experience. The waitress was kind, prompt and friendly. The margaritas were amazing.

What truly sets them apart is the management: the owners are active, on the floor, and happy to ensure your table is having a wonderful time. This place is amazing! I truly love the ambience and feel of Salty Cowboy. The service was great and very attentive to me and my wife’s needs. The guacamole was to die for! Some of the best food I’ve had in a LONG time! Absolutely delicious. The prices are fair for the portions, too. I was completely full afterward. Appetizers are a little expensive, however.

Awesome cocktails & food. Great atmosphere. Stopped here to visit friends on way to National Champions Indiana University. Will be back when it’s warmer to play golf in the area.
