We ordered 4 family taco feasts for Christmas Day for our family of eleven. These guys crushed it! The whole family loved everything and the portions were generous. They saved us from so much cooking / dishes and this turned out better than any Christmas dinner we would have made ourselves. They packed it all together perfectly, we couldn’t be happier with deciding to use La Féria for our holiday this year. Highly recommend, as we will be doing this again next year. Thanks team!

I LOVE La Feria Mexican Restaurant! It was my first real Mexican food when I came to Des Moines in December, and I couldn’t wait to go back. I already have my favourite which is a plain cheese quesadilla with some jalapeños on the side (I do put them inside before eating). Tonight we also tried their frozen margaritas, which were delicious. I drove so I had an alcohol free raspberry, and my fiancé had the lime. When you arrive you get chips and salsa for the table too. The food is wonderful and overall highly recommend!

update: Kind of disappointed.
I ordered two taco plates with onion and cilantro on the side. The young girl at the counter came out and said, “Hey, they put the cilantro and onion on top. Do you want me to fix them or what do you want me to do?” I said yes because my daughter might not eat them otherwise.
She went back to the kitchen and I thought they were going to fix it, but then she came back out and said, “Well, I don’t want to toss the other tacos, so you’ll take them as well.” I didn’t argue and just figured I’d take them.
When I first placed my order, I noticed a few of the other employees were watching her but not really paying attention to me. It seemed like they knew she wasn’t fully comfortable taking orders yet, so I don’t understand why they had her up there by herself, especially during a rush.
Got home and those extra tacos weren’t even in the bag, which is fine, I wasn’t asking for free food. But my tacos were supposed to be all corn, and three ended up being flour. As a Mexican, that’s frustrating because we don’t eat flour tortillas for tacos. I ended up making my own tortillas, which really defeated the purpose because I only went out since I was too lazy to cook today.
Nov 2024-In and out! My food was delicious, and I really enjoyed my meal. The only thing I’d suggest is for La Feria to work on their salsa. It was a bit too watered down for my taste. Luckily, I had some homemade salsa at home to add, but it would be great if their salsa had a bit more kick and texture. Overall, still a great experience!

Best patio views in Des Moines! Has potential to be best restaurant but currently the patio is underutilized / not well maintained, and there was nothing exceptional about the food. Will definitely go back just to sit on the patio.

We love this place. We like to sit at the bar and harass the workers, and they treat us great. The food is delicious and authentic. When the weather is right – it’s nice to sit out back and enjoy the view! The bike trail goes right by here so it’s a nice reward for the pedaling! Great margaritas!
