So ya, where to begin ……..we loved the bbq when it was primal bbq, now trying the taco joint…….we will not bother trying it a 2nd time.
We got takeout, they said 15min, my husband was there literally 15min later. Yet all the food was cold. Not warm, cold like it had been prepared earlier today and they took the bacon out and slapped it in a cold taco shell.
We ordered burnt ends, we got brisket. Cold, dry, no flavor brisket. These are 2 different things.
We ordered a kids bowl, rice with chicken. I weighed the chicken, they gave us maybe 2 cups of rice with 1oz of chicken.
The molcajete salsa was just weird. We ordered things as well, but they also did not warrant mentioning. Veggie tacos, etc.
Everything was bland with no flavor. Really thick, slightly creamy, and bland.
Camano stanwood needed another taco joint the same way we needed another Thai place or bakery…..go back to actual BBQ. Will not be back or waste my money.

Everything about my experience was great, I don’t often leave 5 star reviews because there’s always something that tips me to 3-4. Espescially with BBQ restaurants, I barely ever get food from them because I feel that they usually cut corners to save, and I can make pretty damn good BBQ myself. Customer service was amazing. It was my first time here, and they helped with pretty much everything. I got the brisket, ribs, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. Everything hit the spot, and the vinegar BBQ sauce, and the hot / spicy BBQ sauce was also great . Not to mention, I was riding, and they went above and beyond to make sure I could take leftovers with me on the motorcycle. No complaints whatsoever, thanks everyone here that made it a great experience.

My husband and I split the combo, picking brisket and pulled pork, with potatoes and elote. For sauces we tried the smoky hot and the tangy. Tangy was my favorite so we took home a bottle as a souvenir. The potato salad was a star, but the elote was just okay. I would probably try the Mac and cheese next time. The pulled pork and brisket were both really good. I usually dislike high stools, but they were actually fairly comfortable. Nice drink selection, I had a topo chico.

Awesome place for BBQ, must be new as the signage is not everywhere on the property yet. The main sign in the commons still shows the old pizza place, so follow that and end up with finger licking good BBQ. They also had fantastic side dishes, try the potato salad and coleslaw. They also got a fun array of drinking options, from alcoholic to non alcoholic and there is indoor and outdoor seating.

Primal BBQ has a cozy but modern feel. The customer service was amazing, with staff checking in on us while we dined in to make sure we had everything we needed. I loved that there was as much seating outside as in. I’m excited to have this as a new place to stop by on the island!

I took my friends here tonight and we had the BEST time! The staff were so friendly and welcoming- honestly one of the best dine-in experiences I’ve had in years. I got the bowl- delicious. My friend and her husband got tacos and loved them, and my husband had the Korean taco and LOVED it. He was super bummed about the change from BBQ, but said it paid off. I also had the leches dessert and it was so, so good. Shoutout to the chef, who’d said he’d been working on that recipe for six years! The lime was such a great choice. We don’t typically come north of IGA for food (live on the south end) but definitely will be making an effort to visit here more! Thanks again all!

Primal Taco – the new personality created from its prior existence as Primal BBQ. Primal Taco created a spin on traditional Mexican and falls short as of right now. I ordered Guacamole and it was partially mixed with lettuce and a giant piece of uncut onion. Was this intentional or did these intruders slip in? Although the Rice Bowls were overall good, I would hardly say they are much different than the bowls they served when it was Primal BBQ. Price is a little high for what you get. Overall quality ingredients, but quality control needs to be better. Customer service was great. 3 Stars as of now.

Extremely underwhelming. Tapped is one of my favorite places so I was excited to try this! It’s overpriced and pretty bland. The way they serve tacos for a group is SO STRANGE also. I don’t want my tacos mixed with everyone else’s. I’d like my own plate or taco stand. The price is what’s insane though. Go back to bbq and lower the dang prices.

For these kind of prices I’d expect home made tortillas, alas, these were fresh out of a plastic bag, and not warmed in any way, so they seemed raw and broke apart as we were eating. For $9 the burnt end taco was a disappointment, with the pickles, meat, and sauce not in proportion. Flavors in general were good, but way over priced for what you got. Would be great to have even some above options on Camano. Come one, out there, we’re waiting.
