It was the second day of the year 2025, my spiritual brother and I went there to have dinner. I would recommend this place.
The pork belly was so tender with a nice sweet and salty flavour.
The seafood in a basket seems like a play on chop suey, good enough for a vegetable dish.
For the beef dish, I was going to say tad too salty but it wasn’t just a tad. Shame because the meat is tender and the flavours are promising, except they took too much liberty on the salt/soy sauce. And there is hope for this dish because we literally redeemed this by taking it out, cooking it along with ingredients that balance out saltiness.
The lumpia’s filling is subpar and the sesame seeds has no business being there, this isn’t turon.
Service is blah, weird sassy waiter.

Ambience and Service:
Service: 3/5
The staff seemed indifferent and unapproachable, which set a negative tone for the entire visit. The service was slow and inattentive. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, it took a considerable amount of time for someone to take our order.
Ambiance: 3/5
The ambiance, which looked stunning in pictures, did not quite live up to expectations in person. While the decor is pleasant, it lacked the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere depicted online. Despite this, the seating was comfortable, and the restaurant was clean.
While the ambiance and service didn’t meet our expectations, food were satisfactory. I hope the restaurant considers enhancing the in-person atmosphere to match the allure of their online presence.
I was actually surprised that the quality of the food here was so good, it even made me return to try a couple of more dishes.
All the dishes we ordered, the tangigue kinilaw, the stuffed calmar, the kare-kare and the seafood basket were all impeccable. If Filipino food was promoted worlwide by quality mall franchises such as Roadhouse, it would certainly have a much better reputation, because there are enough excellent local dishes in this country, it’s just not so easy to find them prepared well.
Prices are on the high side for Davao city but for the size and quality still very reasonable, so if you’re in the Ecoland area, give this one a try, you might be positively surprised.
