The Hangar Bay Cafe, ( a Black-Owned Business ), first and foremost, is where we serve comfort food…without pretense or fanfare. The menu choices are eclectic by design. We are not a Japanese restaurant nor are we a Soul food place. Everything on the menu is good, so feel free to try a dish today and something different next time. The Hangar Bay Café and Gallery in Atlantic Beach, FL is a cozy, local gem with serious flavor. The Bayou Ramen was surprisingly delicious—rich broth, bold Cajun-inspired taste, and perfectly cooked noodles. Their fried chicken has always been a favorite, though this visit it didn’t quite hit the same mark. Service was friendly and attentive, and even though it’s a smaller spot, seating wasn’t an issue. If you’re craving ramen in Atlantic Beach with a Southern twist, this place is definitely worth a try.

I got the regular size Fireball ramen and 2 fried biscuits with honey. The portion of the Ramen was huge, taste was amazing! I never had chicken meatballs like that before, very good. The soup was very spicy, but the biscuits helped with that. Dining area is small and it was very busy when we went, so plan accordingly if you’re going with a large group. Definitely will go back to try their fried chicken.

The okra and ranch dressing? To die for. Each seed crunches a pop of flavor in your mouth. Topped with real homemade buttermilk ranch dressing. Nice lip licking experience.

I’ll definitely be back in for more, I got pork tonkotsu broth and absolutely it’s the best. I also had gotten two pieces of fried chicken they were super crispy and well seasoned. Just make sure you know what you want when you go up to the counter and your all set!

You will come for the ramen, but will come back for the chicken. Recommendation from me is to get a 4 piece dark meat and get the slaw to refresh your palette. Then, get a ramen of your choosing, as the broth is nice to have between bites of chicken. Cool decor too.

Extremely long wait during my lunchtime. I barely had time to eat that high priced chicken. $14 for 4 pieces that were fried too hard and no side or even a piece bread is crazy to me. Feel free to give them a try.

While the fusion of Cajun and Japanese food is pretty unique, nothing we had here was particularly impressive. The Bayou Ramen and Gyoza puffs were the best out of everything we tried. The fried chicken was too salty. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable. Probably won’t be back.

They have the best fried chicken I think we have ever had. I was amazed to find somewhere that had two amazing comforts foods in one place: Ramen & fried chicken. Everything was fresh and hot. We ordered a little bit of everything since it was our first visit. The chicken was juicy and the skin was seasoned to perfection (i usually don’t eat the skin). The red Cajun dipping sauce was amazingly spicy. Make sure to get the sweet tea, it’s like lemon brisk. The veggie Ramen was salty and savory with crispy tofu and tons of veg. My kids had Ramen with pork and seasoned eggs and the chicken base was light. Even their fries were great. To top it off we ordered the fried honey biscuits. They were fluffy inside and the honey on top was perfect. I threw some chicken in one and it might be a new thing. We will def be back!

The food was awesome. Very friendly staff. It was awesome seeing the mix of culture. My son had the fried chicken and French fries. Seasoning was on point. We also had the bayou ramen. Absolutely amazing. I had the pulled pork with slaw on top sandwich. Also delicious. Definitely recommend and happy to see it still there after all these years !

Hangar bay is a regular of ours. Their ramen is the best in Jacksonville and I’ve tried a lot but even better is their fried chicken. Chris has some secret recipe that only he mixes up and it’s as good as my mom made. I’ve never had fried chicken this good. Get the combo so you get the ramen and the fried chicken and you will thank me
