I had an excellent time here for my birthday! The atmosphere feels cozy yet luxurious and the food/drinks are even better. I got the Salar Sangria which was phenomenal. My table got the beef empanadas, spicy passionfruit wings, lomo saltado beef, northern peruvian style braised lamb shank, and the pannacotta. Everything exceeded our expectations and the portion sizes are fair. Highly suggest for anyone looking to try new food!

Not sure which was better; the food or Mark the waiter! We left our entire order up to him, and we were not disappointed! (Not to mention he was also incredibly charming and lovely!). We had the ceviche to start, which was flavourful and refreshing. For our main, we had the lamb shank with cheesy risotto (Mark suggested that change), which was delicious. Just came off the bone and was incredibly flavourful. I have to say that the food was fantastic overall, to the point that we considered staying longer in Dayton the next day and going back!

Salar is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at. Food is delicious and drinks are well crafted. Each dish was so flavorful and my group wnjoyed everything that was ordered. I went with a work dinner and we collectively got lamb chops, steak with fries, calamari, ceasar salad, empanadas, and specialty drinks. The smoky whiskey drinks were a fan favorite and presentation was excellent by the server. The only dish that was sub par was the dessert item that was described as a fluffy pastry with cinnamon and ice cream that ended up tasting like a poptart. 5/5 stars I will return but it is pricey.

This was our first time visiting it came as a recommendation from a friend. It was such a great evening, Mark was knowledgeable and helpful when choosing drinks, appetizers and the main course. My only the saltado beef was a little tough and chewy slightly salty but that’s a small thing based on taste preference.

My favorite in Dayton after one trial thus far. Upscale dinner spit in cool location. Sangria and IPA 3/5. Croquetas 4/5. Pork chop (which, I know, sounds boring). 5/5 with excellent jam! Cinnamon icecream dessert 4/5. See the elephant amaro 5/5. Overall, very satisfying.

Both the food and service were superb. Everything from the cocktails to the desserts came out looking good and tasting even better. Our server was very friendly and knew the menu well. I would highly recommend this restaurant for special night out.

Made reservation got there. Table was ready in dining room but I was on a knee scooter so they put us in bar area, because host said there wouldn’t be enough room in dining room area for it.

Couldn’t have been more impressed with this spot! Definitely not what we were expecting on the drive over but absolutely worth it. Victoria, our waitress, was attentive and the food was delicious.

Solid Peruvian Spot with a Few Misses
We visited this Peruvian restaurant and overall had a good experience. The appetizers were mostly very good and set a positive tone for the meal.
The calamari, however, were a miss. Dark in color and tasted like they had been refried. It could have been a bad batch, but it’s probably something to avoid.
For mains, the short ribs were very good, and both the surf & turf and ribeye were solid choices as well.
The only real disappointment was the beef lomo saltado with mushrooms which was tasty but noticeably too salty. Everyone at the table agreed, and since we ordered more than one, it clearly wasn’t just a single off plate.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience and we’d be willing to come back to give it another try. The restaurant is spacious with multiple rooms; some are significantly louder than others, so keep that in mind when choosing where to sit.

Nice upscale restaurant with amazing food. The bar area service was great on a sunday evening. The parmesean scallops were some of the bea ive had. Perfectly cooked and toasted with crispy parmesean. I also got the lamb shank, it was exactly as described. It was good but lacked what i was looking for. Overall great experience.
