Great service and better than average food. A bit pricey but much better value than a fast food joint. I know a lot of guests were regulars; it was obvious. It was our first time. We will be back!

Passing through and hungry from ripping the twisties we just pulled in to Lamppost. We asked someone in the parking lot if the food here is any good. They replied that everything here is great, so we gave it a try. The server was a sweetheart with a little sass and a sense of humor and great care. The food was excellent. Quite possibly the best burger I’ve ever had. We have since recommended Lamppost to people from all over and vow to make a return next fall.

It was 26 degrees when we left our lodging in Maryville TN this morning. The sun had just come up and, brrr, it was cold. My wife and I have stopped at the Lamp Post before so our first destination was to stop for some hot coffee and home cooked food. The restaurant was warm and inviting. The servers and cooks were smiling and happy. The restaurant was inviting us to enter and get warm. The filtered coffee was steaming hot and inviting. We sat at the bar for a good view at the cooking show. We had a great breakfast and show. The food is terrific and worth the wait. Sit at the bar so you can watch the show.

As I have stated in previous posts, I rarely give 5 stars. This place was exceptional in every way. We were a party of 10, and none of us had a single complaint about anything. From menu choices to service, prices, and portion sizes. Everything was just awesome. I live an hour away from here, and I will definitely be back. Ya’ll keep up the good work!!

Every time I have eaten here I am pleased. The food is always like momma makes. The options are awesome. Got some beef stew and cornbread to bring home for supper.

Fiancée and I stopped in while in the area for a wedding. The place was PACKED (it was a Friday night) but we were able to sit at the diner which was fine by us. We both ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and although we were warned it may take 45 minutes, we were served in half that time. We were fine with waiting anyway. The food was delicious, and the employees were friendly. If we are ever back in the area, we plan on stopping by for breakfast!

This staple of Madisonville is a local favorite. Great authentic southern cooked meals at a great affordable price! Staff is always pleasant! Food is always good!
Can be a little greasy at times…..but what southern food isn’t a little greasy?
You guys are doing great! Thanks for never disappointing thus far!

1st time customer, and unfortunately last time also. 6/24/23 My wife and I both ordered a fish plate. The picture of the fish plate on the menu has 2 pieces of fish, some hushpuppies, fries and slaw. We got 1 small piece of dried up overcooked fish, fries and slaw. (No hushpuppies). We both got sweet tea, the tea was very weak and watered down. We waited for 50+ mins on the food, no one ever updated us on our order or apologized for the wait. It was pretty busy, but someone should had updated us. I don’t mind a wait and understand, but the food should be worth the wait. The fish that we were served was small and very thin and hard to cut with a fork. I ate 2 fries and both was cold. I asked for the manager, she was rude and defensive from the start. She said the fish is flounder and cooked to a perfect golden brown. I told her it was smaller than a mcdonald fish filet sandwich and she said no it wasn’t. I had high hopes for the lamppost, we like to support small businesses but this visit was very disappointing. The manager did no charge our orders, but never apologized or cared about our visit and wasted time. The picture posted is what I was served. I should’ve took a picture of how thin the fish was. Most restaurants wouldn’t serve this to their customers.
