We found this place while looking for non-chain restaurants passing by on a road trip. The staff was awesome! The restaurant is a tiny local place that deserves to be over flowing with customers. Food was delicious. I got a great burger, fries, and a giant pickle. They had vinegar for fries!! We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the food prep.

My son wanted a good burger, and why not go to the place that’s been cooking them on the same grill for 90+ years! I can remember my Grandpa taking me there back in the 70’s for a burger. Great fresh cut fries, and some of thr best onion rings in town! You can’t go wrong with Bob’s!

I’ve been wanting to go to Bob’s Hamburg for a while now but I live in austintown, finally had a chance and well worth it!!!! The double mushroom swiss burger was phenomenal!!!! Good old fashioned burger diner with awesome service and atmosphere…I definitely will drive an hour to get some more of this thanks!!!!

Our first time here. If you look up “dive” in the dictionary, you might see a photo of this place. Regardless, this is an “old school” diner. It is small inside, 5 tables and maybe 10 seats at the counter. When we got there for lunch, all the tables were occupied, so we sat at the counter. Service was good. Drink orders were taken, followed by the food order. The burgers came out about 25 minutes later. The grill is next to the counter, so we watched our grill chef form our burgers from fresh ground beef and cook them right in front of us. I had the Bob’s everything burger with cheddar cheese. My wife had the Undefeted Burger with bacon and fries in addition to cheese. You can get the Everything burger with many toppings but I chose less so I could taste the beef. The burgers were cooked to perfection, and I have to admit, one of the best burgers I have had in a while. Meat was juicy and flavorful. I want to try them again and explore their menu some more. They also serve breakfast.

Five booths and 8 stools at a counter make for an intimate dining experience. Remember the place is “Bob’s Hamburg” after the city in Germany, but they serve Hamburgers. A simple menu featuring a variety of custom burgers. We went with the special, a Mac & Cheese burger with a scoop of chili and a Fried Mozzarella burger. We split an order of onion rings. You could see the burgers were fresh hand made. Food was ready in 5 min. All the food is cooked on a 12 x 18 grill. The food was excellent. The cook and server were friendly and conversational. The exterior of the place is a couple notches below a dive but the food, service and atmosphere were great. Ah, keep in mind the one unisex restroom is outside. It is old but clean and heated. Large people might find it difficult to use.

This place has been in my radar for a long time but I was finally able to check it out. Such an Akron gem! The place itself has such a vibe and the food was great. 15/10 on the cheese sticks, you get *12* pieces in the side order and the cheese pull was a dream. House root beer is great, hand cut fries, and of course, a no frills, well done burger. I’ll be back soon.
