We really enjoyed our food and our time at Lucy’s! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Lucy herself even came by to say hi! The food really hit the spot after a long day!

From Texas and passing through… Great lunch in the bar – fast service, fabulous cocktails – had the peach mule – and great food… hubby had the beef burrito, I had the chili rellenos… loved the queso!!! SOO good! We’ll be in the area again and will definitely go back!!

WHERE’S THE BEEF??????? Here’s what a chicken & beef fajitas plate looks like for $20. Had to move the veggies around to find the beef! Ask waitress about it and didn’t even care. Better step it up Lucy’s!

Always a great stop.! Adam’s queso is a must try and the Mexicali burrito and cantina tacos are also one my favs… not to mention the bar brings good drinks and vibes… I think you’ll enjoy…. I know I do!!

Just like the other reviews, food and drinks are delicious here. We ordered the put the lime in the coconut and Lucy’s special margarita and they were amazing. I ordered the 3 cheese enchiladas and hubby ordered combo fajitas. Kids had quesadillas. Great atmosphere and service as well.

This family owned restaurant in Carlsbad has the best Hispanic food and margueritas in town. A broad spectrum of visitors including families made me feel right at home. We had one of the most efficient waitresses I have encountered in a time. The prices were moderate. Don’t plan on a meal there on Sundays–closed (as are many of the eating establishments in town).

Ok, so the last few times we’ve gone to Lucy’s we’ve noticed a decline in the food quality and service. One time we waited for a table for 30 minutes and the owner wound up seating a group of people that arrived way after us because she knew them & they don’t take reservations, we just walked out and went to Diamante. Nevertheless, I have fond memories of this place growing up when they were located across the street from their new spot, so I continue to give them opportunities at redemption. They continue to fail miserably.
This last time the waitress let us know as soon as she began taking our order that they didn’t have any Adam’s Queso, Tucson Chimis, Ranchero Shrimp, Steaks, basically anything grilled. So we decided to just finish up our margaritas and guac and try our luck somewhere else since they didn’t have anything we wanted. When we were almost done the waitress came back and said they were now able to make the Tucson Chimi and fajitas so we reluctantly went along with it and placed our order. The Tucson Chimi was decent, but the tortillas that came with my wife’s fajitas were cold and slimy straight out the warmer, and the salsa was like colored water with no flavor. Not worth the price when there are better options available. Might be time for Lucy to pass the reins to some new blood.
