Reviews
Overall food is good but expect to pay a lot.
* Shrimp Toast: This appetizer was just okay. It was on the dry side and lacked the richness we were expecting.
* Roast Crab: The crab itself was excellent–fresh and cooked perfectly. However, the heavy use of butter slightly overwhelmed the flavors.
* Colossal Royal Tiger Prawns: The prawns were juicy and flavorful, but again, there was an overabundance of butter, which detracted from the natural taste of the seafood.
* Fried Rice Combo (Shrimp and Chicken): Unfortunately, this was the weakest dish of the night. The rice was over-charred, which left a bitter taste, and the flavors didn’t come together well.
While the seafood quality was undeniably good, the overuse of butter made the meal feel a bit heavy. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive, but for the price point, we expected a little more finesse in the execution of the dishes.
The crab and prawns are worth trying, but we’d love to see more balance in the flavors next time.
This place is known for crab and garlic noodles. Unfortunately, my son is allergic to crab so we informed the server to ensure there is no cross contamination.
We ordered an appetizer, salad and three entrees, and one dessert.
We ordered shrimp toasts, mango salad, steam Chilean Sea Bass, shaken beef, tiger prawns, extra order garlic noodles, and a bowl of rice. The portions are a little small and worked out great, so we can ordered fried banana a la mode.
The shrimp toast was good, shrimp had full flavors and toasts were fresh. The sea bass has great flavor and great with the butter, but the portion was really small, mainly a small piece of fish and a few Shanghai bok choy, I think the fish should be a little larger or should include a side dish. The shaken beef was very good, great with steam rice. The tiger prawns were very good and it came with garlic noodles. The fired banana is a little dried but great with ice cream. Overall, we enjoy the food. Reason to give a 5 stars was great service and good non crab dishes. This is a crab place but other choices were very good too.
We would return again
$82 currently for 1 crab, and this I know is price gouging even though its off season. Its good food, the crab at least, but the garlic noodles aren’t worth $15 for a portion.
Not in a hurry to go back here.
From Apps to Crab to Dessert. Such a wonderful spot to dine in Outer sunset.
