Social Profile:

Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

This was one of the most disappointing burger experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the very first bite, it was clear that the patty was extremely dry, to the point where it was difficult to chew. A good burger should be juicy, tender, and flavorful — this was the complete opposite. It felt more like eating cardboard than freshly prepared beef.

What made the experience worse was the temperature of the food. The burger wasn’t hot or fresh; it was barely warm. That immediately gave the impression that the patty had been sitting somewhere for a long time and was only reheated once the order came in. There was no freshness, no sizzle, and none of that satisfying feeling you expect from a freshly made burger.

Honestly, the taste was so bad that it was hard to finish the meal. The texture and flavor were extremely unpleasant, and there was a strange aftertaste that made the whole experience even worse. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by how its food tastes, and in this case, it felt like zero care was put into quality or preparation.

I’ve eaten at many fast-food burger places, and even fast food can deliver consistent quality when done right. Compared to places like In-N-Out Burger, this restaurant is far behind in terms of taste, freshness, and overall standards. Being a fast-food chain is not an excuse to serve food that feels old and poorly prepared.

This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last. I had high hopes, but the quality was unacceptable. I hope management seriously considers improving their food standards, because right now, it’s not worth the money or the time.

GENUINELY so frustrating with the burgers! Why did I order an AVOCADO bacon burger to get HALF OF A SLICE of an avocado. Had the remake the and it was even worse!! Genuinely disappointed

Would not recommend this location at the moment, which honestly makes me sad because I love Whataburger. My order was incorrect. I ordered double cheese, was charged for it, but the cheese wasn’t added, and we were also given the wrong order. The fries were mushy and cold, and both burgers were dried out, even the one from the incorrect order. It almost felt like food that had been sitting for a while or like standby orders that never got picked up. The Coke machine was also out of several options. During my visit, there seemed to be more focus on casual conversation and flirting behind the counter than on the orders coming through. Hoping management can help bring the attention back to the small details that make Whataburger great.

This Whataburger delivers what you’d look for in a Whataburger. It’s not thrown together and actually looks like the burgers shown in their advertisements. And the employees appear to take pride in their employment. We were even greeted by an employee as we were leaving the restaurant. This Whataburger should be top ranked for food, atmosphere, and friendly attentive employees. Good job Whataburger!

I have one word to say. #GiveAaronARaise.
When my grandma died i felt an immense hole in my heart. The second Aaron served. I felt something i haven’t felt in years. A sense of peace and calm unlike any other in the entire world. Aaron deserves a raise unlike no other. He should be paid $88/hr. Why 88? My grandma died at 88 and i believe that aaron is the reincarnation of my grandma. God Bless Aaron. #GiveAaronARaise #Aaron2028

The burgers aren’t what they used to be. I’ve been eating Whataburgers since 1966. I can tell that the meat is thinner and costs are higher than comparable meals. I can get better value in other burger places and at places that serve tacos. Whataburger is losing me. I feel that my loyalty, like I have for H-E-B and other South Texas retail establishments is waning when I order Whataburger. I’m also losing it for Luby’s Restaurants that have been in decline since they were sold to the Pappas brothers or Jim’s Restaurants that do little to maintain the exterior and interior experience of their restaurants.

I experienced a highlight of my day at this waterburger today, as Caycenca, the cashier, generously assisted my co workers and I with genuine hospitality in service! It reminded me of something that will never fade, love, thanks!

First time at this chain, food was good service was bad. An associate named “Olly” took our order was impatient even let out an “ugh” when asked a question. Associate should remain in back to avoid any further negative customer experience.

Made me wait because they wanted to give me a fresh biscuit. Biscuit was fresh but then the hash browns were cold. Doesn’t make sense.
