Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

What made the experience worse was the temperature of the food. The burger wasn’t hot or fresh; it was barely warm. That immediately gave the impression that the patty had been sitting somewhere for a long time and was only reheated once the order came in. There was no freshness, no sizzle, and none of that satisfying feeling you expect from a freshly made burger.
Honestly, the taste was so bad that it was hard to finish the meal. The texture and flavor were extremely unpleasant, and there was a strange aftertaste that made the whole experience even worse. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by how its food tastes, and in this case, it felt like zero care was put into quality or preparation.
I’ve eaten at many fast-food burger places, and even fast food can deliver consistent quality when done right. Compared to places like In-N-Out Burger, this restaurant is far behind in terms of taste, freshness, and overall standards. Being a fast-food chain is not an excuse to serve food that feels old and poorly prepared.
This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last. I had high hopes, but the quality was unacceptable. I hope management seriously considers improving their food standards, because right now, it’s not worth the money or the time.
Service is awesome staff was so helping, offering, and good. And it’s freakin fast food too
When my grandma died i felt an immense hole in my heart. The second Aaron served. I felt something i haven’t felt in years. A sense of peace and calm unlike any other in the entire world. Aaron deserves a raise unlike no other. He should be paid $88/hr. Why 88? My grandma died at 88 and i believe that aaron is the reincarnation of my grandma. God Bless Aaron. #GiveAaronARaise #Aaron2028
