The lobster bisque was served piping hot and was delicious, although the dumpling-like item inside was just okay.
The restaurant is a little too dimly lit for my preference, but the illuminated menu was something new to me and quite fun.
Overall, a satisfying meal.
Overall: Great spot for a high-end steak dinner with strong reviews from diners.
• Excellent quality steak and meats — top choice for special occasions.
• Generally great service and atmosphere.
• Good choice of wines and side dishes — feels like a nicer night out.
Tips for first-timers:
• Book in advance — places with high ratings and lots of reviews tend to fill up.
• Reviewers often mention that the steaks are the star — so ordering one of their signature cuts is usually recommended.
Here are some tasty dish recommendations you might want to try at The Ranch Steakhouse & Bar by ASTONS in Singapore — known for great steaks and classic steakhouse flavours:
Steak & Premium Meats
• Dry-Aged Ribeye or Prime Ribeye Steak – Classic rich, juicy steak with great flavour. Often a top pick for steak lovers.
• Tomahawk Steak – Big, impressive cut great for sharing or special occasions.
• Wagyu Steak – Tender, well-marbled beef that’s melt-in-your-mouth.
️ Starters & Appetisers
• Wagyu Cold Cut Platter – A selection of premium sliced Wagyu — great for a flavorful start.
• Char-grilled Iberico Chestnut Pork – A well-flavoured pork dish if you want something non-beef.
• Octopus Bruschetta / Cured Salmon – Light, seafood options before your main course.
Other Mains
• Surf & Turf (Ribeye + Sausage) – If you want a mix of meats in one plate.
• Pan-Seared Salmon – Good choice if you prefer fish over beef.
• Char-grilled Fiery Chicken Thigh / Truffle Chicken Roulade – If you want something lighter but still flavourful.
Sides & Complements
• Truffle Butter Mashed Potatoes – Creamy and earthy, a great partner to steak.
• Onion Rings / Potato Wedges – Classic steakhouse sides that go with everything.
Drinks & Desserts
• The Ranch has a wine list and cocktails that pair well with rich meats.
• Desserts (like lava cake or coconut blancmange) are often mentioned as good endings to a meal.
Tips for ordering:
• If it’s your first visit, go for a steak cut like ribeye or wagyu — these are most praised by diners.
• Add a rich side (like truffle mash) and a nice wine or cocktail to make it a full experience.
Unfortunately after we left, 3 members of our party found themselves to be quite sick & it persisted for over 48 hours derailing their vacation.
I tried to reach out to the Ranch to advise them but did not hear back. An expensive (but lovely) meal that had a very disappointing ending.
I’m not so sure I could recommend this in good faith.
Food is ok, reasonably well prepared. Service could be better as the dining hall is devoid of staff.
A bit of introduction of the house specialty would go a long way. The portion of the ala carte side is on the generous side and could not be finished by single person. Can perhaps consider provide a half size portion on the menu.
The complementary house bread roll is nicely warmed and served with a side of truffle butter, which is a nice touch.
The ceasar salad is definitely one of the better ones, and is nicely served with crunchy greens.
The fillet mignon (medium) was cooked to the proper doneness, with a warm pink center. A more generous portion of accompanied sauce would definitely be appreciated.
The back lit menu is definitely a very good idea. You can read the menu clearly despite the low lumination of the place.
We arrived ahead of our seating time, but we were promptly brought to our table and the meals were well-paced as well. The steak was fantastic and so were the other dishes. Portions were good too and will definitely be back.
I brought two more friends with me for the evening. The outlet has an operating time of closing at 330 pm and reopening at 530 pm. Other than the three of us, there was only one more customer who was there for the promotion.
The place has limited seating capacity but definitely felt very cosy. I believe it would be better to make a reservation for dining purposes. For pure drinking purposes, we could hang out at the bar counter or the stool tables outside which all in all could accommodate about 16 persons.
The place implemented a simple operation in the evening on the promotion day to pay for the beer using a simple coupon instead of going through the slow process of cash register which I experienced during the noon session. It was nice of them to simplify and to speed up the process.
The menus used by the place was really awesome that looked like a lit book. It was very innovative and classy in a dark place.
Overall I enjoyed my beer and the staff and the environment of the place.
