Delicious as always. We came in just an hour before closing and quite hungry, but the staff didn’t make us feel like we needed to rush. Kind and offering refills instead of an early check our server was awesome! Thank you!

My sister and brother n law came from Florida for vacation. We told my sister about this place. Shes only had 1 mexican restaurant and neither her nor her husband liked it.
We told them this is a authentic mexican restaurant. I honestly think she was dreading it. We got inside and neither of them knew what to get. We have recommended things but they were unsure if theyd like it. Our waitress went above and beyond. She went to the kitchen and brought out a sample plate of the different meats, rice and beans. I have only ever had the chicken and the beef. Well, when they tried the samples, i tried the pork red chili and OMG, I fell inlove. That is definitely my new go to.
My family was able to taste the samples and figure out what they wanted. They were really surprised by the portions of the burritos. My sister got back home to Florida and called me and told me she is now craving Barbosas….lol.
The flour chips are like nothing ive ever tried. They are delicious!!
It was definitely a great experience for them and for all of us. We absolutely LOVE this place.

It is a shame that the downtown location is gone, but the current location still rocks.
The food is all made in-house, and chips are not from a factory. The hotel sauce on the table is unique and delicious.

You must order the cheese & meat dip with the homemade chips… SO DELICIOUS. The chicken fajitas quesadilla and tacos were fantastic as well. Friendly waitress, wonderful service. Clean, comfortable restaurant. Large servings.

been coming to Barbosas for 40 + years. seems by the reviews some folks prefer chain restaurants that’s okay but Barbosas has authentic lard fried chips. No they are not free because they’re homemade not bought in bulk. The Red Pork Chilie is AH-Mazing but the Chicken tacos are the best tacos I’ve ever had. I would definitely not order tacos to go they will not be as crispy as fresh in store. I live a few hours away but I will always stop when in town.

I’ve been eating here and at the old “castle” location downtown, my whole life. Wonderful food for an affordable price. The house-made chips and taco shells are amazing and the fideo is addicting. Highly recommended!

So while I have been everywhere over the country eating Mexican food every I can say the burrito I did order was not good and it could have been better. Though the atmosphere and service should get five stars even though the food can get one star all around the people are friendly the atmosphere is nice.

May I suggest that you do not wrap up tacos and tortillas on to go orders. Both of my tacos were falling apart from moisture inside the paper they were wrapped in and the tostada wasn’t edible. It was stuck inside a plastic bag and was soggy. It went in the trash. Really disappointed.

In town for our grandson’s birth and googled Mexican restaurants. My wife and I both agreed this was the best Mexican food outside of Mexico! Portions huge and food was awesome. Grand daughter of the founder served and told us stories of the place. Chip are the best. If you are near, please stop and eat!
