I did their family meals for pickup to feed a crowd. The food was delicious despite being transported. It was a hit, and we barely had any leftovers. We were going back for seconds! We enjoyed a combo of street tacos as well as the Verde enchiladas. I mixed it up getting both types of rice and both types of beans to make sure everyone got what they wanted. Yum! Will definitely do this again for an affordable crowd pleaser.

If you are seated and Berenice is your waitress I suggest leaving. We came in 2.5 hours before they closed with a party of 11. We aren’t an overly needy group, a few substitutions on food but nothing crazy. Throughout the meal the waitress didn’t do a great job keeping up with refills and wasn’t friendly in the least. We were finishing up roughly an hour before close and the waitress didn’t ask about dessert or anything before just dropping off the checks.

Around the same time my grandmother asked for a to go drink and the waitress brought an empty to go cup (grandmother’s glass was full but she was still eating). My grandma finished her drink throughout the course of finishing her meal and the waitress was sitting at a table rolling silverware and playing on her phone so my grandmother asked for a refill to which the waitress gave her a disgusted look. A gentleman ended up getting the drink. A short while later my daughter went up to the waitress to ask for to go drinks for two other members of our party to which Berenice replied “Is there anything else you need because I’m not getting up again.” Yet again she wasn’t the one to bring out the drinks.

Unfortunately, we had all already signed checks which had a forced 18% gratuity on them. In speaking with the manager the waitresses are supposed to get management permission to do the forced gratuity and they have had repeated issues with this waitress which begs the question of why she’s still an employee.

The food was mediocre but we’ve been at other times and it tasted better so I’m chalking that up to a bad night for the kitchen.

This is my 2nd review & will definitely be my LAST for #Chimis on 51st & Harvard area! Me & a friend went there for lunch today (2/15/26) during “downtime” at about 2:45 to 3p. Our waitress, who NEVER introduced herself, sauntered over & asked what we wanted to order, in a “tone” as if we were wasting her time. The only other people eating, was a “White” family of about 5, who our waitress waited on hand & foot–constantly asking how good the food was, if they needed refills & later if they wanted dessert. She walked by our table several times, without saying a word, but made sure she had a good spot to watch the Winter Olympics! She didn’t suggest drinks or appetizers to us & the ONLY good thing she did was bring fresh HOT tortilla chips & warned us the plates were hot when she brought the food. Once she was at the other table, I started staring at her & did it so long, she FINALLY walked over to us, asked how the food was & was gone before I finished my answer! Also, we never got any more CHIPS or drink refills! Oddly enough, my friend was “white” too, but I am a Black female, so I guess her “can’t be bothered” attitude was for me! No worries, “nameless” waitress; next time, I’ll make the LONGER trip to #Chimis on Cherry Street, where I’ve ALWAYS had EXCELLENT service for To-Go orders & Dine-In!

Chimi’s is a local chain in Tulsa and when we travel through, it’s a go-to for family gatherings. Mrs. Flip Out got their shrimp taco special and really enjoyed the combination of veggies and spices on the tacos. I had the ground beef nachos and it was delicious as usual. You will enjoy Chimi’s if you go.

We had a great time at this location! Even though it was pretty busy, the service was great and the food was delicious. I got the tamale pie, which was incredible, and my aunt got a shrimp something-or-other (pictured). We’ll definitely be back.

I took my daughter here for dinner. The wait staff did not seem happy to be there, we were seated and we ordered. I ordered the chicken fajita burrito. The plate of food I got was the worst plate of food I’ve ever had. The guacamole was brown so I took it off my plate and tried the burrito, it was full of onions and they were undercooked. I tried to eat part of the burrito but it was so gross. The beans were plain, no flavor at all. The rice was white and just plain. I only took a couple of bites of the whole plate and left it. It was truly awful. The salsa tasted like pace picante sauce. The queso was OK, I did eat some of it.
Overall, not a good experience. I will not ever go back. Tulsa has a lot of great restaurants, Chimis is not one of them.

I really like this place, well I like the cherry street location. This was my first time at this location and will be my last time at this location. I always order the Tamale Pie and my wife orders the nachos. Well the tamale pie was visibly over cooked or burnt. I will post pictures. They shouldn’t have even brought it out in my opinion

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. My husband and I frequent here often. I usually get the Sonoran enchiladas and my husband loves the fajita nachos. The guac and queso are great. The servers are fantastic and very attentive. Highly recommend
