Hamburger King is pure Oklahoma nostalgia—50’s diner vibes, comfort food, and yes… you get to order your meal by phone right from your table. I felt like I should dial “0” for the operator just for fun.
I planned on getting a burger but the Chicken Fried Steak tempted me, and I’m glad I listened. Perfect size, great flavor, mashed potatoes on point, and the cole slaw—served ice cold—was way better than expected.
My wife ordered the Chili Cheese Burger with potato wedges and rated it “highly delicious,” which is the official measurement in our house.
Closed out with Coconut Cream Pie because… it’s a diner. And it was everything I hoped for.
If you’re anywhere near Shawnee, do yourself a favor and make the call—literally.

Definitely a gem here in main st. In Shawnee. Nice little Diner atmosphere.. have to order your food from an old fashioned phone from the table. Food was outstanding as with the service. Highly recommend if you are in Shawnee!

Very cool old school hamburger joint. Each booth has a phone with a red button. Use the phone to make your order. Menu has plenty of other options including chicken fried steaks. The staff are helpful and attentive. Only downside was my bacon cheese potato wedges were not as fresh as I had hoped, but the burger was great!

This was our first time going there. Reminded me of the old time burger joints…booths where you can call in your order or they had counter seating. We wanted a good burger and it did not disappoint! Very flavorful. Their chili was also yummy. Staff was Super friendly and too good care of us. Will be going back!

This place was such a pleasant surprise. Tucked quietly on Main street. The burger was made out of real beef and cooked to perfection. The wedges were fresh and tasty. The service was awesome. I thought the phone to order was nostalgic and cute. Will definitely go back again!!

This place is an AWESOME little hidden gem in Shawnee. If youre looking for some soul food and good home cooking, this is the place for you.
The burgers taste home cooked. The potato wedges were super fresh, as well as the veggies on the burger (say goodbye to the days of wilted lettuce and slimy tomatos on your burger here!) The amount of food you get for such a low price, even with inflation, is insane! Also, a super unique experience! They’ve maintained the 1920s vibe in many ways from ordering via phone, the decor, original tiling in the bathroom.
The atmosphere is fun, and feels like a throwback. The staff seem to really enjoy each other’s company and are super nice. This joint was full of laughter and joyful chatter from everyone while I was here. Even just sitting down for some pie will warm your soul.

What an amazing place to sit down and have an old fashioned burger. Nearly 100 years of history and tradition aided and abetted by an amazing staff that loves their customers. You order your food from your table by calling it in. The food is par excellence, especially the onion rings, wow! I highly recommend this amazing place.
