In the spring of 2021 an opportunity to bring a little bit of our hometown flavor to the streets of Houston came knocking on our door. And in March of that year we decided to open Birria Los Primos. Amidst the uncertainty the last two years have brought it was scary to open our own place but with the support of our family and friends we have succeeded in reinventing a classic Mexican dish into everyones go to for Birria. We want everyone who is familiar with Birria to feel like they are back home and to all those who have never tried to fall in love with it. We will continue to serve quality food and offer quality service, that is our main goal and will keep aiming to be better.

Pulled up to Birria Los Primos in Houston and I have to say… this spot really impressed me. I went with the birria burrito and from the first bite, I knew it was different. They don’t skimp here—the burrito was stuffed with rice and birria, grilled just right, and packed with so much meat that every bite was loaded with flavor. The birria itself? Tender, juicy, seasoned to perfection, and just melted in your mouth. Honestly, it’s one of those burritos that makes you sit back and say, yeah, this is why I came.
Now here’s where it caught me off guard—the french fries. I wasn’t expecting much, but they turned out to be one of the biggest highlights of the meal. Crispy, well-seasoned, and easily some of the best fries I’ve ever had at a Mexican food spot. Like, I would seriously come back just for the fries alone. And when I saw they had birria smothered fries on the menu? Say less. I already know those would be a must-order for me next time—I’d definitely smash those without hesitation.
The whole experience had that authentic, neighborhood vibe. Nothing fancy, just straight-up good food done right. Sometimes the simplest dishes, when they’re executed at a high level, are what make a place unforgettable. And that’s exactly what Los Primos did for me.
Overall, this is a 5/5 spot—from the food to the unexpected gems on the menu, it’s the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before you even leave.

Ordered the Birria taco and Taco de asada and we loved them!!! You order at the counter, pay and then they give you a little buzzer that goes off when it ready to go collect. They don’t sell alcohol so you’ve to go to another bar in the room for that. Tvs showing different sports and other food options in the space. We had got a lite confused when trying to find this place. Follow the sign for underground and do down the stairs.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! If I could leave 0 stars I would . From the moment you order the prices are extremely pricy 5$ per taco not including tax . The tacos have little to no meat & they only give you a small container of sauce to go with it & if you want extra you have to pay 3$! I got 3 tacos due to my hunger & only got 1 slice of lime (dry) when asking for extra they wanted to charge !! . The customer service is horrible save yourself the time, money & disappointment . The food was also terrible nothing like what is advertised & no seasoning at all!! . 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

Good! The portions are small for the price but the flavor is superb and filling. 1st time trying Birria had the extra sauce and the fries with the cheese, slow cooked beef and sauce is amazing. You have to go into that galleria style area and walk downstairs, had to figure that out. But all good!

Unique experience, in a weird hidden location. The neon lights and the way there are 3 other food stalls in this basement are intriguing. I loved every bit of it. I had some great birria and a half-liter glass mexican coke. It was perfection.

The birria burrito here was super dry and tasted more like a shredded beef burrito instead of that signature birria flavor. I didn’t enjoy the rice to birria ratio. The cashier was very polite and its in a cool like underground hangout spot.

And expensive $16 for 3 small tacos
They give u any extra limes or hot sauce they charge if you want even one lime . The taste are bland and dry ! Just go to any local taco truck or legit Taco Bell run is better than this place . Very disappointed never again oh and $20 parking
