Davin and I had our first proper date night in 12 years and chose Relentless Steak and Lobster House in Port Solent, and honestly it exceeded all of our expectations.

We skipped a starter because we really wanted to enjoy the steaks. I had the filet mignon cooked medium rare (because I actually have taste when it comes to how steak should be cooked), and my husband had the ribeye cooked medium well because apparently he doesn’t know how to order steak properly… but opposites attract.

We had triple cooked chips, sweet potato fries, some olives, and a bottle of Prosecco, and everything was absolutely spot on.

The staff were incredible, the atmosphere was amazing, the Deadpool was on point, and the food was beyond our expectations. We finished with the salted caramel churros, which were the perfect end to the meal.

Such a lovely place for our first date night in over a decade. We will absolutely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone in the local area.

Finally a restaurant that takes cash still!

Only slight negative feedback was that it was a shame that you have to pay your bill straight after you order your food due to the amount of walk outs/trouble. I understand it must save a lot of hassle and a wage of a doorman. However, just makes the dining experience feel a little strange considering the type of restaurant we were in and a 12.5% service charge was added – we weren’t to know what the service would be like until the end of the meal, was weird for us to pay for something we hadn’t received fully yet. All in all we tipped in the end as the service and food was great. We would come back again

staff were helpful and cheerfull. Food was great cooked to perfection. You do have to settle you main bill when you order. anything added after that gets added to your tab. This is only to protect the restaurant and staff as they have had a few people walkout with out paying. I will return

Impeccable attentive and friendly service by Millie and Lottie. Our food was exceptional and we had the pleasure of meeting the owner Scott who was equally amazing. Great playlist!! Can’t wait to come back x (sadly we didn’t take any pictures of the food as we were more interested in eating it!)

Stopped by on Mother’s Day (which also happened to be my 50th birthday) for a late lunch. We knew we were taking a chance as we didn’t have a reservation, but the staff was amazing and they were able to squeeze us in due to a no-show. As expected, it was exceptionally busy as the weather was gorgeous and families were celebrating. The staff remained very friendly and professional, in spite of being inundated. The re was a set menu for the day and all of the options looked appetizing. The meal was pretty good, not as good as I’ve had from them in the past, but having worked in the service industry before, I definitely understand. My only complaint was I was given a crab leg with my meal but when I cracked it open water poured out all over the rest of my plate. A little unpleasant, but it wasn’t anything I really worried about. Overall, it’s still one of my favorite spots and I’ll definitely be back…on a much less crowded occasion.

Food was great, the steak I ordered came exactly how I wanted.

However, besides the fact I had to pay a deposit for a booking, and the fact that I had to pay the food upfront(you’re not a fast food chain, you are a proper sit down restaurant not McDonald’s or nando’s) and service charge of £15 prior to even have the food or the service, was poor. Service charge(its the tip) must be earned not demanded quietly in the bill. Thats hospitality basics 101.

When I asked for it to be taken off, I was met with surprise by the waiting staff and I could tell they did not like the fact I have asked for this, so they changed their demeanour towards us throughout our sitting.

Again, the tip must be earned not assumed. I thought not to leave a tip but I did out of principle on the table.

Apart from that, food was great, as expected.

My wife and I have just had an amazing lunchtime experience here today. Laura on front of house was fantastic and very informative as my wife has a nut allergy. The fillet steak with diane sauce was the joint top best I have ever had, equal to one I had recently in Perth Australia. In fact the whole place reminded us of there but 25°c colder. My wife had the chicken supreme which was also fantastic. The Australian Chardonnay was also excellent. Scott the chef did a fantastic job and the portions were generous. We need to go back to try a pudding. Steve & Linda .

We visited this restaurant to celebrate a family member’s birthday. On arrival, the restaurant looked messy, with bags piled up in a corner, which wasn’t a great first impression. We waited a long time for our starters despite the restaurant not being busy. The starters themselves were acceptable.

For my main course, I ordered the fillet steak rare. When it arrived, the cut was tough and chewy, so I sent it back to be cooked again. When the replacement was brought out, it was blue and cold to the touch. At that point, I chose not to eat it.

Although I did receive a refund, there was very little apology or acknowledgment of the issues. I expected much better from this restaurant, especially given the positive things I had heard beforehand.
