We visited Mike’s Big Steakhouse and tried the Big Mike’s 24 oz Ribeye and a New York Strip, along with the twice baked mashed potatoes. The steaks were good, though the mashed potatoes were a little dry and could have used more flavor. The smoked tuna and fried shrimp appetizers were enjoyable but not fresh., The Caesar salad was fresh & flavorful. Service was good but could have been a little more friendly. Overall, the experience was decent but a little pricey for the quality.

Great place to get a steak in Andalusia. Pork chops are very tender and seasoned to the nines. Beefs steaks are served with a generous amount of seasoned butter on top, very tasty.
Warm, dark brown bread served with brown sugar/cinnamon butter.
The “premium sides” have always left a lot to be desired. Very bland with zero love, which is surprising considering how much love is given to the proteins and appetizers.
$40-$50 per person
Service has always been superb and consistent.
Tables and atmosphere very comfortable and inviting.

The special man in my life took me out for my birthday dinner and Big Mike’s food was Amazing! I enjoyed a large grilled chicken cobb salad and it was very good. The atmosphere was cozy, relaxing and calming. Parking was plentiful and the restaurant was accommodating to my food concerns. Our food came out quickly and our waiter was very knowledgeable. The fresh bread and butter spread was very tasteful. The steak was cooked to perfection and the crab cakes were flavorful and fulfilling. We had a wonderful experience.

Not worth the hype. Way too expensive for the quality. Their steak doesn’t taste like steak, it tastes like they use liquid smoke on it and a lot. They honor the military but we barely got $2 off a $168 meal.

I had the 16oz ribeye. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. My wife, not a big steak person, said her baseball filet was very good. Overall food and service was outstanding. Sorry wasn’t fast enough to get pics.

My fiancé and I celebrated our 5 Year Anniversary here, and we are so glad that we did! The service was great, and the food was overall delicious. We will certainly be back! We got the Mozzarella Cheese Wedges for an appetizer, and they were phenomenal! I do wish the Marinara wasn’t so thick because it was hard for it to cling to the wedges, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker. We will get them again! For an entree, I got the 16 oz. Ribeye (Medium Rare) with a Loaded Baked Potato and a Mixed Green Side Salad with Ranch. Y’all, this Ribeye was divine. Usually I like to use A1 with my steaks as I like the way A1 does taste, but it did not need to be paired with this steak. The steak was beyond flavorful, juicy, and tender. Highly recommend! My fiancé got the (2) 8 oz. Prime Pork Ribeyes, and they were incredible! They were so tender. He paired it with a Shrimp Skewer, French Fries, and Caesar Salad. He said he will get this same exact meal next time. Last but not least, we did enjoy the Bavarian Bread with Cinnamon Butter. It was not the best that I have had, but it was still decent. All in all, we had a wonderful time and already want to go back! This has definitely become a date night favorite.

Big Mike’s in Andalusia, Alabama absolutely blew me away! The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly, making sure every detail of my event went off without a hitch. The food was amazing, the service was top-notch, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish.

I was giving a dinner presentation and ran into an unexpected hiccup when the projector wouldn’t work. Without hesitation, the owner ran to Walmart, purchased a new projector, and had it set up in time for me to give my presentation. Talk about going above and beyond!

Five stars all the way around. Such an amazing group of people in such an amazing place — I can’t recommend Big Mike’s highly enough.

**Big Mike’s Steakhouse in Andalusia, Alabama – A Culinary Delight**

I now understand why the locals rave about Big Mike’s Steakhouse in Andalusia, Alabama. After trying other restaurants in town, I see what makes this is a local gem that offers a solid dining experience. We indulged in a variety of dishes, each showcasing the quality and care that Big Mike’s is known for.

While the steak wasn’t cooked to the temp ordered, it was tender, and flavorful. The pork loin chops were more impressive, juicy and well-seasoned, making for a hearty and satisfying dish.

The crabcakes were not anything special. The queso dip was creamy and rich, & tweaked to the liking of our bartender suggestion. Good call. It made a solid starter that set the tone for the meal.

When it came to desserts, Big Mike’s truly shined. The carrot cake was dense, with just the right amount of sweetness and a delicate balance of flavors, not overly nutty, making it a delightful treat. The salted caramel cheesecake was indulgent, with a smooth texture and a perfect blend of sweet and salty.

However, the star of the evening was the bread pudding. It stole the show with its warm, comforting flavors and a texture that was simply divine. If you’re dining at Big Mike’s, make sure to save room for this dessert – it’s an absolute must-try.

Overall, Big Mike’s offers a well-rounded dining experience with dishes that are as satisfying as they are memorable. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is one spot in Andalusia that shouldn’t be missed.

The doors opened at around 3.45, and there was a line of people waiting, so it is suggested to get there early. We were seated, and our waiter was with us promptly. We ordered fried pickles appetizer, which was well “a OK” it does say sweet pickles and sweet they were so if tou are a traditional fried ivkles fan this one may not be for you. Warm bread with cinnamon butter was good. Steaks were great. Both of my kids got an 8 oz steak and enjoyed it. My husband got a steak. It was supposed to be cooked medium, but it was a little overcooked. According to him, it was “too good to complain,” and it was all gone. My Sweetwater stack was great. It had one of the best crabcakes I have ever had. Shrimp was nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. The side of broccoli was also very good, so was the sweet potato. Overall, if we are back in Andalusia this will be our #1 choice for food, of course if there is not a long wait.

What a disappointment. My daughter & I ordered burgers. Everything was overcooked & cold. The fries had obviously been made 30+ minutes before we got em. Our waitress “forgot” to bring fresh after we let her know. I ended up sending my plate back. My daughter ate half of her cold burger. The dining room was dirty. The plexiglass booth dividers were covered with greasy marks & fingerprints. (We were first tables of the night) The ceiling fans and pipes were covered in dust. Over-priced for what we received.
