The delicious focaccia and chutney was a nice starter. Especially paired with the oysters.
I wasn’t planning on having a main, but when the most gracious and personable server asked what I’ll be having as a main I looked through the menu, and saw a surprisingly rare dish I have come to love and has been hard to come by so decided to go with the Polpo Mario. A gorgeously plated masterpiece of the most tender, beautifully grilled and seasoned, octopus and mashed potatoes, with asparagus. This dish alone, made the whole experience worth a review.
I will definitely return to this cozy and welcoming space again soon.
Service started off well. Our server greeted us quickly and was friendly, and we didn’t have to wait long for the food, which was great. I went with the lasagna, and it was delicious authentic Italian flavor. The salmon was also tasty, and I liked that they had a solid selection of European and Latin American wines to pair with dinner.
Dessert, though, was a bit of a letdown. The menu wasn’t explained clearly, so we just ordered two scoops of gelato. For the price, it felt too simple, and the presentation wasn’t what we expected. On top of that, once we finished eating, we felt like we were being rushed out a little, which made things less comfortable.
All that said, the atmosphere was still very nice, and I’d call it a good spot for dinner in Seattle. Customer service just needs a little more attention to match the quality of the place. Parking isn’t a problem there are plenty of paid lots and garages close by.
One last thing to note: they add a 3.5% fee to the bill. The explanation on the check wasn’t super clear, but if it helps keep the restaurant running and supports better service, I don’t mind contributing.
We started with a glass of wine (prices are a bit on the higher side) served with warm bread and homemade pesto — such a nice touch. For our appetizer, we ordered oysters, and they were exceptionally fresh! We’re used to good seafood, but these really stood out.
My husband ordered the Prosciutto Pizza, and I had the Calamarata al Pesce pasta. I didn’t try the pizza myself, but my husband said the dough was amazing and loaded with toppings. My pasta was clearly homemade — you can taste the difference — and it came packed with seafood, especially the mussels, which were outstanding. It was one of those dishes where you want extra bread just to soak up every drop of that incredible sauce.
To finish, the staff kindly brought us a tiramisu on the house — perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and without that overly bitter coffee taste you sometimes get. Truly exceptional (and I say that as someone who’s lived in Italy!). The bathrooms were spotless, and I loved that you can see the kitchen from the dining area.
Overall: excellent atmosphere, top-quality food, and genuinely warm service. Highly recommended for a romantic or special evening out.
Let’s talk about the food. One of the most laughable things we saw: they actually put Grana Padano on top of mozzarella on their pizza. The octopus dish was smothered in so many random sauces that it was impossible to taste the actual seafood. The whole meal felt like a gimmick — not Italian, not creative, just confused. Now, about the service: we hadn’t even finished or in some cases started the starters before the main dishes were being thrown onto the table. Lasagna and pasta plates were being dropped off mid-bite, as if we were on some kind of timer. It was awkward, rushed, and honestly kind of disrespectful.
Then, as soon as we finished eating, the bill was slammed on the table without us asking, and the plates were cleared instantly — like they couldn’t wait to get rid of us. The restaurant was almost empty, so the rush made no sense at all.
The waitress, Loan N., was equally unimpressive visibly uninterested, and looked unprofessional with half-painted nails and an untidy appearance. It felt like no one there cared.
This place might pass as “cool” for some hipster crowd who don’t care about real flavors or proper dining service but if you’re looking for anything close to authentic Italian food or a relaxed dining experience, look elsewhere.
Truly disappointing. Would never go back.
