In 1950, with a $500 loan from his father, Bill Miller opened a small poultry and egg business. Three years later Bill Miller Bar-B-Q began as a small fried chicken-to-go restaurant. Today Bill Miller is a family owned and operated business with 77 locations in the San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. We take pride in cooking all our barbecued meats in pits smoked with 100% live oak wood. We offer a variety of meats such as brisket, sausage, bar-b-q chicken, pork spareribs, turkey and fried chicken. We specialize in the baking of breads and pies made fresh daily. First time visiting Bill Millers in about 7 years since my last visit wasn’t a good one. Today reminded me to just stay away. I ordered the Regular Plate to go and this is what I pulled out of the bag when I got home. This is not a serving of brisket. It was mostly just fat. Never “trust, but verify” with the location. Simply but strictly “verify” your order before walking out. This tells me they care zero for customer satisfaction and are a very deceptive business. Perhaps since it was a to-go business order they figured they’d skimp on the brisket. Shameful

Almost always great except for when I have already driven away and my potato and egg taco is just a potato taco. I used some of the beans from the bean taco to unplain it. I don’t make time to check the food at the window, so it has a consequence once in a while.

We order online about once a week. It’s hit or miss. We lives than 5 minutes away and sometimes it’s ready by the time I get and sometimes it’s about 15 minutes.
Today I ordered breakfast at 10:15 am. I got there about 10:25. I went to the pickup counter to let them know I was there and went to wait at a table. Fast forward to 11:15. Many people had come in, ordered, eaten, and left. Im talking probably 15 groups of people. People had to come pickup orders and gotten their food and left.
I went back to the counter to ask again, and let them know I was still there, patiently waiting. One man had just ordered his food 10 minutes before, a large order (2 large bags) and was leaving with his food. Asked for a refund so I could go somewhere else. The manager looked up my order and saw the ticket was still sitting in the prep area, untouched. It had been an hour since I ordered and I just wanted to go at this point.
They refunded my order and asked my 2 wait just another minute. In less then 2 minutes they had made my order and it was in my hand.
The manager did try to make it right by refunding the order but the fact that I had to ask for a refund, because an hour waiting for food is more than frustrating, it is becoming acceptable at this restaurant.

Not trying to bash a place that I’m sure is doing their best, but I wish I would’ve known before stopping in.

Food – 1 star because there was a bug smushed into the tortilla of my breakfast taco. We went up to the front to request a new one.

Service – 1 star because we stood at the front for approx. 10 minutes and were not acknowledged. There seemed to only be 2 workers, so all service was very slow (about 7:15am).

Atmosphere – 1 star because the music was BLASTING. I couldn’t hear my husband talking while sitting right next to me.

Wanted to give a shout-out to Christian, Byron and the staff working the drive thru Saturday late afternoon. There was a small hiccup on my order, but when I contacted the store Christian (manager on duty) responded “absolutely come on back tomorrow morning and we’ll make things right!” This is why I love this location. Their products are always fresh, but the quality of customer service is SUPERB! This location will always provide the best service, as if you’re their only customer. Go visit Christian and staff at the Walzem store – you will not be disappointed! Keep up the outstanding work — it does not go unnoticed. Thank you again!

I like the food at Bill Miller’s. The service at this location however is not the best. I ordered online and got the text that it was ready. Went in and went straight to the orders online. The manager was there talking with another customer, he did notice me; so I waited my turn. Once he was done with that customer he didn’t even ask if he could help me, just left. Only one employee in front and she wad ignoring me as well. To boot, when I get home find out they got my order wrong. Shouldn’t even give them a star.

Went for breakfast. Had several cars in front of me in drive thru. Get to speaker at 11:01 to order to be told breakfast ended at 11. No exception to the fact that I had set in line for over 10 mins waiting to order breakfast. And then be told breakfast was completely gone at 11.. I mean come on I ordered at 1101… I only wanted a biscuit.
Did as they said and filed my complaint but no one has ever reached out to me concerning this.

The food was great, but customer service lacked any semblance of great. I went inside to order, and my order was taken correctly. When my order was ready, they called my name. I went up to get my food, asked the girl if they called David, she said yes as she continued to stack cups. I literally had to reach across the counter to grab my own food. In my opinion, she should’ve waited there, ensured I was who she called, and handed me my bag, said have a great night, thank you for your order, or something. Instead I grabbed my food and walked out. Maybe I’m nit picking, but not a great look for encouraging people to return. Otherwise, everything was good. I had no complaints from my kids (who the order was for), so in the end, good job.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at Bill Miller’s. Ordered a PO boy plus and it was very disappointing. Looked like they just threw all the left over scraps on a bun that was SMASHED so much it looked round instead of the usual shape.
