Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Circa-1950 fast-food chain for counter-serve burgers, some stacked with multiple patties.

Food was cold when received. Originally got the wrong order. I can be stingy when it comes to money but still $8 for a burger is still too much in my own opinion. There are many better restaurants than this place nearby. Not the worst but don’t recommend.

I have no complaints about the cleanliness of this Whataburger location, but with food prices constantly rising, I expect to receive what I actually ordered. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
I ordered a melt, but it was missing all the toppings. When I pointed this out at the counter, the employee seemed frustrated and said he would fix it. After a few minutes, I followed up, and he told me they still had to cook the toppings. Since our sandwich was getting cold, I requested a full remake. He sighed, and when we finally got our meal about 10 minutes later, they had simply reheated the same burger—without even adding the missing toppings.
I reached out to corporate six times, and they simply didn’t care. No response, no resolution—nothing. Just be aware that you might not get what you ordered here, and if there’s a problem, don’t expect them to make it right.

I was so excited to eat at Whataburger since my home state doesn’t have them andI haven’t been to one since living in Texas many years ago. Sadly it was a let down. My chicken tenders were completely RAW. Of course I only noticed after I bit into one and swallowed, so now I have food poisoning. I contacted the “customer care team” and send the photo but absolutely no one has reached out to me. This is vile and disgusting. I will never eat at this location again, and honestly it’s ruined Whataburger as a whole since they seem to not care that they are serving dangerously undercooked CHICKEN to people.

Look folks, if you were looking for a stellar review, you’re really not looking in the right place. Whataburger is a flawed fastfood joint. Their service is incredibly slow. I was trapped in the drive through on this occasion for an entire hour. That’s longer than I’m usually willing to wait for fine dining! But! That 2 a.m. Burger and Fries was one of the most wonderful, unhealthy things I put in my mouth that day. So yes, their service sucks, the atmosphere is… Spartan, but when you have food cravings *really* late at night, this is one of the better choices.

The food was stale, same with the fries after waiting in the drive thru for about an hour. With only 2 cars in line… at the window. Come on this aint no resteraunt.

This was my first time eating in a Whataburger, since I was 5 years old, when we stopped at one in Oklahoma on our way to visit family in California. Now, that was back in 1973, and I remember that my brother, and I hated it! Where we lived back then it was either McDonald’s, or Henry’s Hamburgers in our house, and Timmy, and I just weren’t digging the mustard that they put on our burgers at the Whataburger in Oklahoma. So now we fast forward 50 years, and I thought that I’d give it another try. My wife was game, and so we came in a little bit after the lunch rush. The restaurant was very clean and everyone seemed friendly. Everything we ordered was fresh and plentiful. I’ll say that it’s not too bad, compared to my childhood experience. But, it would still not be one of my top choices on a place to eat. For me it would be more of a place I’d go to when I got tired of my regular rotation of places to eat, and wanted to substitute an alternative choice just to shake things up a little.

The chicken is very dry and tasteless, and the fries taste like burnt oil with too much salt. Really disappointing.

I have been several times. I tried to go during the meal rush times. But I’ve never had a problem. The people are always very nice and the food is good.

There are so many awful things I have to say about this place. If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would. My husband gets off late, so 9/10 times this is the only place open to get food on his way home. I’m not sure who the manager of this shift is, but he needs to be fired. He’s so rude & doesn’t run his shift well at all. Our food used to be good. They used to know our order every time it came up bc we were regulars, and then out of no where it started coming home either really sloppy & disgusting looking, wrong, or both. We’ve had to call to complain so many times that the manager of this shift actually implied that we were trying to get free food. I have had to wait 30 minutes in the drive through with a screaming toddler in the back seat while two people are inside twiddling their thumbs. FOR MILKSHAKES. & the guy gives me an attitude like I’m the problem. I’m so tired of calling & complaining. I can never get ahold of the general manager. I’m just so over this place all together.
I know I sound like a Karen, but I don’t think I’ve ever been so fed up with a fast food restaurant.

Any issue this restaurant had in the past is gone. The food continues to be very good and the staff have been friendly. I am glad that this restaurant is not too far from my house.
I appreciate that this restaurant recognizes our service by offering a free coffee for veterans. Thanks, it means a lot to know that our service to our country is appreciated.

The food has improved and shakes have been available. Staff and management have been doing a good job. They deserve the five star rating that I’m giving them.
……….
They had shakes today, but not the raspberry chocolate shake
………..
Like today they rarely have shakes available. They even have an advertisement on the lit sign out front about the raspberry chocolate shake that they don’t have.

Since I’ve been having a bit of luck getting milkshakes from this location, I decided to order just a milkshake this time. After waiting at the drive-thru for 25 minutes, 15 of them at the window, I asked that my order be canceled. They told me that the milkshake machine was broken and they had been trying to fix it. I bet the five cars behind me weren’t happy about the milkshake machine being broken either.
I was still charged for the milkshake that I didn’t get.

Of the three times I have been to this location, The shake machine was out of order twice. They must use the same machine that McDonald’s does.
Burgers are good but not the best compared to other fast-food restaurants. I like the fact that they are open 24 hours.
