The Waffle House, Central and McCord, has the friendliest atmosphere anywhere. The waitresses, each of them, are fantastic. The service is consistently exdellent: coffee is refilled amazingly quickly, waffles are cooked to perfection, hash browns done right every time. How friendly are the servers? Just as friendly as you care to be, they will reciprocate, making you feel at home, the way home should be. i went to this location for lunch today and had great service from a friendly waitress, Madison. she was thorough with our order, fast, and efficient. actually probably the BEST service i’ve had at this location…. so why did Holly (a supervisor) feel the need to scream at her from across the restaurant, with multiple people watching- angry at apparently the “lack of work” she had done. THREATENED her with “this will be the worst day of your life. i promise you” and manager Harrison sent Madison home and let vicious Holly stay? I’ve worked in customer service for 10 years. I was horrified at Hollys behavior, mocking Madison and joking about the situation after she left. ALL IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS!!! Madison, if you read this- you’re amazing. you did your job well, and i’m so sorry you were treated as less than a person. I hope something is done because i’ve always really liked the food and service here but i will not bite my tongue while a grown adult makes a spectacle out of something that could have and should have been a private, respectful conversation

I pulled into this Waffle House and I was surprised it was empty. I was greeted by both the server and the cook. They were extremely nice and welcoming. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and a strawberry shortcake waffle. The waffle was delicious but the peanut butter joint is my favorite. Now that Burger??? That Burger was off the chain! The bacon AND the burger had two separate tastes layered for a combined phenomenal taste. I’m telling everybody that Waffle House on Central has the best burgers on that strip! It’s def worth the strip from Inverness/Ottawa Hills! That cook got down!

Even with the pace of the place, she stayed friendly and efficient, which made us feel taken care of from start to finish.

I am not kidding when I say my roommate and I came to this Waffle House after a night at the bars, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Every time it was between 2-3 am and the food and coffee hit just right. We’ve both graduated and moved back home but we miss this place. Thank you to the staff that always put up with the drunk folks, y’all don’t get enough credit. The food, coffee and service was always good and quick. Thanks for the memories!
