I personally think, “On The Border Mexican Grille & Cantina” is definitely underrated. Take for instance, the Queso alone doesn’t get the credit it deserves. It’s thick, robust and full of Mexican chilles.
To be perfectly honest, the burritos, enchiladas, tacos and other staple dishes of Mexican food items that we come to love are really indistinguishable from something that you’d get anywhere else. Keep in mind that it’s my own opinion and of course, you may feel differently but I just think that they don’t get enough credit.
The Margaritas are on par with any other place. For these reasons, I’m going to recommend it to anyone if they asked for an honest and unbiased opinion. Appreciate anyone that took time to read my review.

I had been wanting On The Border for a while bc the food is usually great. I got a 2go order & this is my first time at this location but…never again! Let me start off saying this was a $12 meal so not that inexpensive. I ordered the ckn flautas, & they had a buy 1 get 1 queso for $1.29 & then chips & salsa for $3.08. First let me say most Mexican places give u free chips & salsa when u order food! U don’t have to pay for it! Second, it’s usually in a bigger styrofoam cup & not this tiny single serve thing! The queso I can understand bc it was only $1.29 but it still took me by surprise a lil. The ckn flautas were just ridiculous! I got 2 & idk what else was in there…it looked like one had exploded & then there was just a chip or part of the shell to another one. Who thought it would ok to serve that to a customer? The staff truly needs to be re evaluated if they think that’s ok! I don’t eat out much bc I don’t have the extra $ to do it & this was a complete waste of $12. I wasn’t even full after it bc I only had 2 lil ckn flautas.. For $12..My daughter says go to Ted’s. She says the food is way better & they give u a free pint of salsa & bag of chips.

Service was beyond excellent and the food was good. I prefer my taco salad to be a bowl instead or in chip form.

I had no complaints. They are certainly way understaffed, but the servers and bartenders were working efficiently. I just had drinks, which were very good. I will be back for sure! Bartender was extremely good at free pouring, which is not easy to do. Drinks were awesome!

Not all OTBs are created equal. 3 employees total working on a Saturday afternoon during the lunch hour. Kind wait staff, but she just can’t keep up with all of the customers. Stale, burnt chips, 30 minutes for nachos. Seriously? Not a great experience. Go to the one in Edmond for better food and a beer experience.

Was able to get my order in over the phone with no problems. Pick up was quick and easy. Everyone was very polite over the phone and in person. Sad I didn’t get a pic of my fajitas. The chicken looked as good as they tasted.

We love coming here for our bartender Chito. He’s always pleasant, fast, friendly… for his part. In general our goblets are frosty, made right, and beer is fresh. We have noticed several times over being there that they run out of the frosted ones when they’re busy… not because they couldn’t put more in there, it’s just they don’t have enough extra in my opinion. They need probably twice as many. The only reason I’m giving it four now though is last few weeks. We’ve noticed the the food service has been kinda spotty & a bartender girl just quit and walked out while we were there last weekend. We were not happy. Manager was nice, but it seems they have something not quite right there. Anyhow, I recommend going there for now.

This place used to be great. I’ve been very disappointed over the year at least. The service used to fast, friendly, and very good. We’ll blame COVID for some of it. The issues I have are long term. PLEASE REMEMBER this is only my opinion as a customer, former food service person, and frequent shopper. I’m not sure whether it’s corporate that has put too much pressure on managers or managers that are to greedy or lazy people, but this store has been neglected. Because of long term lack of doing things the best way or taking shortcuts, or laziness, many things are falling apart. We have seen many problems. The biggest ones for us have revolved around the bar. The frozen mugs for drinks should never be down more then a couple days and I think it took more than 3 weeks. The frozen margarita machine broke, broke again, broke again. Most recently the soda dispenser malfunctioned spraying us and a couple other people. Then while the floors they found out the drains aren’t draining properly. Not having any food or limes for the drinks has never been acceptable when there’s a grocery within 3 mile in any direction. All that being said. I see that there might be promise in a new assistant manager that twice now I have seen him busting his butt trying to wear many hats. I am hopeful that we might see a turn around in this restaurant.

Well ordered avocado “fries” with red Chile dipping sauce…but received avocado cut in huge pieces, one was almost 1/4 sliced and if you’ve had them smaller like fries it taste different, so these was not good. Also no red chili sauce I received ranch, which I hate ranch. When I looked in the bag I couldn’t tell the color of the sauce….do to the yellow dim lighting. But it was enough light to see a pale flautas and one burnt. So of course they fixed that you definitely can tell whoever cooked this meal either doesn’t put care into what they do or….rushing the job. So yeah. Those avocado “cuts” might look tasty but we know looks can be deceiving….just saying

Great! Our server was Brett & he did an amazing job. Birria tacos were moist & yummy. When dipped in the juice even better! I had the fajitas & the whole plate was juicy. Manager took the time to ask how we were liking it. Our whole experience was just great we will be returning but this time will definitely be drinking a few while enjoying the food. Compliments to the chef who made our food with love.
