The service here was great. Our servers were attentive and we enjoyed the variety of seafood, Asian fusion and even saw some hibachi items. Azumi is a great place to enjoy some cocktails, sushi or hibachi. I highly recommend booking reservations in advance. The bartender did let me know they have sushi making classes and tuna carving sessions throughout the month. I’ll definitely be back to try some different cuts of fish and their sushi rolls.
Our server, Tony, was exemplary. He set the tone for the evening by letting us know that the chef and kitchen team would be testing some new menu items, and we were happy to be along for the ride. That trust paid off. There was not a single course that missed the mark. Every dish was thoughtfully executed, timely, and truly delicious.
It is rare not to have at least one course that feels forgettable, but that simply was not the case here. Each plate that came out was fantastic, making for an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The rest of the staff was attentive to our table throughout the entire meal without ever being intrusive.
An excellent first visit, and one we would absolutely recommend.
Azumi delivered an unforgettable dining experience from the moment we arrived.
The ambience is truly out of this world—modern, elegant, and perfectly balanced with warmth. The waterfront views are absolutely stunning, creating a serene and upscale atmosphere that elevates the entire meal. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out, the setting alone makes Azumi stand out as a top-tier destination in Baltimore.
What truly made our evening exceptional, however, was the outstanding service. Our server, Val, was nothing short of phenomenal—attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. She anticipated our needs seamlessly, offered thoughtful recommendations, and ensured that every part of our dining experience was flawless without ever feeling intrusive. Val is the kind of server who turns a great restaurant into an unforgettable one.
Additionally, Agustín went above and beyond by graciously offering to take our photo. It may seem like a small gesture, but it spoke volumes about the hospitality and team culture at Azumi. His kindness and willingness to help us capture a special moment added a personal touch that we truly appreciated.
Between the impeccable service, breathtaking waterfront views, and refined, luxurious ambience, Azumi sets the standard for excellence. Val and Agustín are exemplary employees who clearly take pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and look forward to returning soon.
Worth EVERY dollar. Soooo so good!!!
Fast-forward to yesterday, January 16, 2026—we decided to give it another try. Again, our booth request was not accommodated. When we raised the concern, the staff tried to seat us at a small table, which was not suitable for one guest in our party who is 6’5”. When we asked how long it would be to get a booth, we were told 45–50 minutes, which suggests the restaurant is not properly planning for reservations. We ultimately found seating in the bar area, which worked for our party.
The food, however, was enjoyable. For appetizers, we had lamb chops and a king crab sushi roll—both were flavorful and delicious, with the king crab roll offering a satisfying crunch. For entrees, we tried two fried rice dishes: Wagyu with hot sauce on the side and chicken with the sauce served traditionally. Surprisingly, the chicken fried rice was our favorite, with a nice balance of heat and sweetness, from the hot sauce. The Wagyu was slightly overcooked, though still a good dish. Drinks were solid—Cabernet and a whiskey with cranberry juice.
Service in the bar area was excellent. The servers were attentive, welcoming, and checked in regularly throughout the evening. Special mention to the three gentlemen primarily working that section—they provided great service.
Would I return? The restaurant is fine for a casual outing or a drinks-and-bites night at the bar, but I found it somewhat overrated. The food is good but not exceptional enough to crave, and the handling of reservations is a consistent downside. With better planning for seating requests, this could easily be a stronger experience.
Pros: Good appetizers, flavorful entrees, attentive service in the bar area
Cons: Booth/seating requests not accommodated, reservations appear poorly managed, food enjoyable but not exceptional
Upon entering, I was greeted warmly and promptly escorted to my seat. I was seated near the entrance—not directly facing it—but each time the door opened, a rush of cold air came in, making the area feel quite chilly. I should have asked to change the seat but I didn’t. I am only making a statement, nothing against them. To stay comfortable, I requested hot tea, and my waitress was happy to accommodate, which I appreciated.
The ambiance of the restaurant was very pleasant, and the seating was comfortable. Service throughout the evening was very attentive and courteous. However, for the price point, the portion sizes felt small. From the calamari to the fried rice and even the martini, everything was well-prepared and flavorful, but the servings were noticeably modest.
My total bill for one person, including tip, came to approximately $150. Additionally, the restaurant applies a 3% credit/debit card processing fee on top of the bill, as it stated on the menu in fine print. Personally, I feel that for a bill at this price level, additional processing fees should not be passed on to customers, and this did take away slightly from the overall experience.
That said, the quality and taste of the food were excellent, and I genuinely enjoyed the meal. Before dessert, I asked for warm water to cleanse my palate, and the staff kindly provided it without hesitation. The lava cake was delicious and was a great way to end the dinner.
Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes, definitely. While portion sizes and extra fees may be a concern for some, the overall experience—excellent food, attentive service, pleasant ambiance, and a beautiful evening waterfront view of Baltimore City—makes it worth trying, especially for the experience.
The staff and chef went above and beyond to make our holiday meal spectacular!
