Although they didn’t know anyone in Holly Springs or in North Carolina, they piled their three small boys into their mini-van and drove across the country to make their dream come true. Now yes, I’ll pour one out for the missing OG Chicago tavern pie—but what they do offer is a legit Chicago-style stuffed pizza. The ingredients are high quality, the sauce is bold and savory with real tomato chunks, and the crust is straight up chef’s kiss. This thing eats like it was built with purpose.
I drove about 30 minutes out of my way from Raleigh, and I’ll happily keep doing it—especially for big Chicago sports moments (like a Bears playoff game… which, let’s be honest, don’t happen often). It’s genuinely a taste of home. I’m getting serious Giordano’s vibes, and I’d honestly love to hear the owner’s backstory—because I find it very hard to believe some random person in NC just decided to casually start slinging Chicago-style stuffed pizza at this level.
All that’s missing is an RC Cola. Seriously—if you’re craving hearty, authentic Chicago-style stuffed pizza, go support this place. It’s 100% worth the drive.
Gwen was not only attentive and knowledgeable about the menu but also went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Her enthusiasm for the restaurant’s offerings truly enhanced our dining experience.
Throughout our meal, Gwen checked in with us regularly, making sure we had everything we needed. Her professionalism, coupled with a genuine interest in ensuring our dining experience was top-notch, left a lasting positive impression.
Acme Pizza itself exceeded expectations; the pizza was delicious, with a perfect crust and high-quality toppings. The cozy atmosphere and excellent service provided by Gwen made this visit memorable. I highly recommend Acme Pizza in Holly Springs, and if you’re fortunate enough to have Gwen as your server, you’re in for a delightful dining experience.
The deep dish pizza had a wonderful crust, not doughy and thick. VERY filling. The pizza sauce had chunks of real tomato and a wonderful fresh taste.
Chris was our waiter and did such a great job serving us. Acme Pizza we will definitely be back!
Thank you!
The person who took my order over the phone was polite and efficient and the person who took my payment was smiling non-stop! Excellent experience!
Top 3 garlic knots of my life.
Buffalo chicken pizza was pretty good. Some bites didn’t have chicken or tomato or Buffalo sauce meaning not too evenly distributed ingredients but I would definitely order again.
Friendly staff.
Fries were amazing.
Overall 5/5
After trying the pizza I have to say it was very decent for being outside of Chicago. Crust was good which is usually where pizza places fail when doing deep dish.
Will come back again.
