Excellent food and service in a (very!) small town atmosphere. This quaint little restaurant is tucked away in Tignall, Georgia. In a town that essentially consists of a Dollar General, a church, post office, and a stop light, you would not expect to find a dining experience that serves Italian rotisserie chicken and porchetta topped with arugula on fresh baked focaccia. Nor would you expect to find side items like braised kale, roasted squash, or braised white beans. Yet here they are!
The staff consists of owner Levi Mitchell and… well… that’s it. Just Levi. And he does a great job! His food is delicious, and it is not only tasty, but visually appealing. He puts together each item as if the food is his art.
To manage expectations, this is a very small place, seating fewer people than the B-52s Chrysler. And if you choose to dine in, everything is disposable, so don’t expect china plates and checkered tablecloths. Keep in mind as noted above that Levi is cook, server, cashier, and chief bottle-washer, so when it gets a little busy, you may have a bit of a wait. But his food is worth it.
This is a small place with big flavor, and the prices are reasonable. If you enjoy unique food and supporting small businesses in small towns, give Whirlybird Italian Rotisserie a try.
