I got here around 12:30 on a Friday with the intent to be here earlier for breakfast, but that didn’t happen.
It was not busy at all. There were maybe 4 to 5 tables occupied outside.
And one inside
We were greeted we had to sign in on a piece of paper (kinda outdated but ok)
We were able to sit outside where we wanted that was nice. We only had to wait about five minutes to be seated.
The tables were wiped down, but they were not cleaned. I use wipes that I had on hand.
I did order half a French toast (it came with two slices of diagonal cut toast, a scoop of butter and syrup. Hot nice fine. Not amazing or anything, but it’s food.
I also ordered a club sandwich with french fries a Coke and ranch.
The Coke came out tasting like the syrup was being stingy. I almost was gonna ask for a different drink, but it could’ve just been the ice diluting it if it did come from a can.
The club looked to be a good portion, but the fries were immediately cold.
I asked for fresh fries and apologize for even having to ask she said that’s fine but that they needed to take my entire plate?
She came out less than a minute with “fresh” fries and the missing ranch
The fries were warmer than the fries. I just had but they were not fresh….
We were able to see airplanes going in and out. Nothing crazy but good enough to eat and look out.
I will make a note that the older women servers here seem… idk. Lack of pep. Not that they did anything bad, but the overall vibe just gives a sad diner vibe and that contributes to it as well.
Thankfully, there are benches at least seven that you can come and not feel pressured to have to eat at the diner to see the airplanes.
I wouldnt mind returning again, but probably with my own picnic or something.
I wouldn’t go to the diner
We were lucky enough to get a table outside right by the air field and watched many planes take off and land, which was the highlight of our meal. The food itself was so so, but definitely not bad. We started off with a Cinnamon Roll, which was pretty small and not very fluffy but still had some nice flavors. For our breakfast, we chose the Kitchen Sink Omelette, which was good although it wasn’t blended. The omelette was just folded over the meat so every time you would cut into it everything would spill out. Also, there wasn’t much seasoning or flavors. We also ordered the French Toast, which was a bit better and tasted as expected. I really wanted to like the food more because I really like the scenery, but I feel that this place is worth visiting more for the views than the food.
Food finally came, it was ok. Not terrible but not anything special. When it was time to leave my friend wanted to talk to the owner and the owner said she had nothing to say to her and walked away. When I tried to point out that they had us waiting for over an hour and naturally any child would get restless she acknowledged the bad service but then proceeded to get the entire restaurant involved by yelling to EVERY costumer ‘who here saw these children run?’ We told her it wasn’t necessary to include other guests and that was inappropriate. I told her this was my first time visiting as well as my last. She said she didn’t care and she can’t please everybody.
The environment was fun, the costumer service was awful.. and the owner was as blatantly rude.. very clearly does not like children. Unless you want your child verbally abused, I highly recommend finding another restaurant.
The inside of the restaurant looked much cleaner than the outside. The napkins at our table were wet, the server brought out the wrong juice for the kids initially and then dropped sausage on the way to our table. These aren’t huge issues and they were quickly resolved but it doesn’t leave a great first impression.
I ordered the Sink Burrito which was good and everyone else enjoyed their food so for that, I’ll say 3 stars, but I don’t think there’s any reason to come back.
