You should go here for the overall dive vibes and because it’s local and been around for 3 decades. And it is relatively cheap.
Service isn’t great. The bartender seemed actively annoyed to be bothered doing his job. (Literally handing you a menu was too much to ask). Food is not what it used to be (been coming here since it was an actual hole in the wall in the 90s and was BYOB. It was better then). It’s fine, but it’s nothing special. Again, it is overall inexpensive.
These are not the “best margs.” They are the cheapest margs! $4 for a house marg during HH is like finding a time warp. But it’s premade overly sweet slop. It’s not very good. Didn’t bother finishing it. You’ll pay double at Blue Agave in Fed Hill, but. you will get a better drink.
Kitchen was quick, which was nice. But you don’t get service (or at least we didn’t) – just a drop off. Honestly, the set-up they’ve got going where the bartenders make drinks, take orders, grab food, etc. is…stupid. It’s not enough people to do the job well even when it’s not busy. Burrito was fine. Beans were good.
I might come back, but probably just for some beer and chips.

The food and service at this establishment is great, but the staff can be so rude. Because of an error we were not able to tip on our bill but we’re ready to do so. Instead of listening to our case, the bartender said he didn’t want to serve us anymore, said he was “done talking to us” and threatened to call the cops, when we were not even making a scene about this situation. I understand the right to refuse service, but rude behavior was totally unnecessary. We didn’t make a complaint about this but there’s a nicer way to work through things, especially when it’s just a miscommunication.

Came here to have one last beer for a night cap on my buddy’s 30th birthday party. The bartenders didn’t believe we were 21 because we had out of state IDs (we are all close to 30) and then the short bartender (maybe 5”3?”) aggressively kicked us out because we calmly tried explaining that we were in fact 21. This was after they said they called the cops on us because we were underage (they still served us a drink?) Very bizarre, has never happened to me at a bar before.

Absolutely bizarre situation happened to me and my friends here last night. My friends came from out of town to celebrate my 30th birthday. I wanted to show them the fun stops and had been to Holy Frijoles before so we went in and were met immediately with rude staff who for some reason thought we were younger than 21. We showed them our id’s, but they proceeded to eye roll at us. One of the bartenders told my friend that she didn’t believe my other friend’s id was real. Even though she told us this, she still proceeded to serve us a margarita. So that was weird. My friends and I proceeded to just hangout until another bartender told us that the cops were coming so if we’re not old enough we should leave now. I just turned 30… my friends are in their late 20s and we had already showed them our ids. Minutes later the bartender came with his bouncer and told us that we need to go and that we’re being trespassed. We didn’t cause any scene and proceeded to leave. Don’t want to be anywhere we’re not wanted. However as a Hampden resident this was extremely disappointing. Do better Holy Frijoles.

Came here for to see show and it was a great little place. Bar service was quick, even when busy. The drinks were also super reasonable in price. The main reason i came was to support some local music and I can see why people love coming here for shows. Great music space with a unique style.

Amazing happy hour margaritas and best chimichanga ever!!! Follow me at sincerefoodiemia on insta if you are curious about which margaritas I got and what I ordered specifically for the chimichanga
Honestly, I want to gatekeep this place because the whole bill which includes 3 margs, chips and salsa, and chimichanga came out to be about $28. IN THIS ECONOMY. Whoever is running Holy Frijoles, God bless you.
Basically, you order at the bar and then choose to either keep a running tab or close it. I closed the tab cuz rn I am so broke. The person at the bar taking orders at between 5-7 pm on the 18th was really nice, I always pepper people with questions of what to get and what they recommend but he was super patient with me and I was able to make a good decision.
The person who gave me the chimichanga was so nice too, asking if we are all good or need anything and giving us a ton of napkins and plastic utensils.
100% will return again once my wallet is restored from Black Friday shopping

The staff was very rude to us. Maybe they were just overwhelmed with the volume of people. The short male bartender was especially aggressive. Def short man syndrome.
The food was alright. Drinks were weak.
Overall will not be coming back.

Only gone late at night (8pm-11pm) for drinks and usually average service and drinks. Not bad! Margaritas are my go to, quick and easy.

We were at Frazier’s across the street and got hungry. Needed something good that wasn’t gonna break the bank.
Got guac and some tacos. Super tasty! I didn’t have anything to drink but heard that the margarita was good.
Was a liiiiiitle dirty inside but I expect that from a place like this where it’s sorta walk-up service and cafe style.

Not a fancy place but the service and food definitely makes up for it. The chicken in the quesadilla was the star of the show. So juicy and moist. The bartender was so nice and attentive. It’s definitely worth the visit for lunch. There were arcade games in another room too. It’s probably a great hangout spot for college students. But if nothing else… the chicken quesadilla omg!
