Took my wife to Nick’s for her first visit and she loved it. We enjoyed a small pizza, Stromboli, and order of seasoned fries. Had a glass of wine too. Very enjoyable experience!

Came back to Nick’s after a while and it was great. Extremely loud. Of course it is. Awesome service. Attentive and quick. Good drinks prices. (~$7) Stromboli with Biz Fries was excellent. Stromboli, I haven’t had this elsewhere. But it did not look authentic. Nevertheless, it was a great sandwich with excellent pickles. And half is enough for a good full meal. (When fries are added)

A Bloomington tradition. Upstairs is a great sports bar atmosphere. Downstairs is more traditional restraint vibe. Get the Italian beef sandwich with all the toppings. You won’t regret it.

This is a great place for the older crowd and parents to watch the game if they dont want to mingle with the college students. My Italian beef was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. The service was great Caroline behind the bar was very kind and welcoming. Ill definitely be back and will be a regular during my time in Bloomington.

Sammy is an amazing and attentive bartender who carries a smile on her face. The draft choices are amazing here and your choices are almost limitless. The food is good and the atmosphere is warm. I highly recommend coming in on Thursday and saying hi to sammy!!

I had the worst service i’ve ever probably ever had in my life there. Some friends and I drove 2 hours to watch a basketball game and went to grab a bite to eat before the game. I go in with some buddy’s around 6:45 and we get sat. The waiter tells us to wait a minute before even greeting us. We order a get sweet tea which he says is an option, but then brings out an unsweet tea and explains that they don’t have sweet tea. Then he gets mad when we ask for a sprite. Then after that he waited about 15 minutes to come back and take our order. On top of that he forgets about the sprite and the other refill for the table and then the waiter laughs because he had screwed up twice. After that we waited and waited for our food. While waiting we saw our waiter ignore our section and try to hit on the other waiter in the back section of the restaurant, as well as check himself out in the mirror multiple times. Remember we sat down around 6:45 and our food finally came out at 8:15. Kid you not 8:15. When the food came out our waiter was going to the bathroom and a coworker had to pull him out to come get him to get us our food. When the food comes out one of our friends has yet to receive his pizza. After telling him this, the waiter jokes about the pizza not being done yet. And when it came out it was most definitely pulled out of the oven too early. Because the food took so long , we didn’t have time to call an uber so had to walk 30 minutes in the snow and ice to Assembly Hall. Just ridiculous service and a bad experience at the restaurant.

I came with my dog and had a great time seating outside. My dog was a celebrity and got a big bucket of ice cold water, lots of snuggles and even a nice bacon strip from the waiter!
The food was good, and the service was great.

If you’re looking for some Hoosier nostalgia, Nick’s is the place to be. The bucket-o-fries was a great starter for the table, spicy with a nice aioli. You can’t go wrong with the Stromboli. Plenty of pickles! The black bean burger is available on a gluten free bun, which was tasty. Definitely a great college town hang out.
If you’re looking for something more upscale, visit Nick’s sister restaurant Osteria Rago, which is one of our favorites in Bloomington.
This is an independent, uncompensated review.

Ive been coming here for over 20 years. Nick’s has the best Italian beef in Indiana (add provolone grilled onions and grilled peppers!), locally sourced burgers to die for, a really great bourbon selection, and the best waitress I’ve ever met…. Moriah is the most adorable and attentive lady ever and keeps me coming back nearly every weekend with my friends and family to chat it up! One time she even personally ran to my elderly mother’s car to replenish her meter (I think it was also raining). Come on in, you won’t regret it!
