A roadside gem!
For starters, they have 3 different types of BBQ sauce that they keep in warmers! What a small – yet significant – attention to detail that actually DOES impact the BBQ experience.
Brisket could have been a bit juicer, but we assume it had to do with the time of day and section of cut we got.
Mac n cheese was ultra creamy. The smokey beans were far superior to the jalapeno beans.
The bread roll (which most assume is an afterthought) was actually the STAR of our meal, imo.
FREE soft serve ice cream cone with every purchase!

First one visiting. We had the loaded potato with brisket. Loved how the potato wasn’t dry, it had plenty of butter, cheese and sour cream. The brisket was fresh and juicy. I wasn’t sure where to go when I got there and it was a bit awkward because no one was there at the line and as we got closer to read the menu the guy waiting for us to order was there. Maybe have a bit more guidance for new customers.

We have friends in the area and have seen this place several times, & it always smells good to drive by. Went near closing time, only one other party in the place that time of night.

Service is cafeteria style, prices are average, food was a mixed bag. Ribs were good, brisket was dry and flavor was just okay, we didn’t really care for the sides, but in fairness, it was near closing time, so it may have been better earlier in the day.

Down to earth, ol’ school Texas BBQ. Non-“bourgiie” BBQ. NO BS. Basic, solid prices. Good prices, great value, FANASTIC sides.( all made in house) Brisket kicked ass. Wife loved it all too. Clean, nice Texas tunes on the radio, chill atmosphere. Unique home-made roll. Homemade peach-cobbler. Staff was supercool. JW, a manager welcomed us like family. Met the pitmaster. U.S. Veteran-friendly NOT some $100 snob BBQ place. A tip top, good ol boy Texas joint. Will return often, a new fave. Thanks “Old House” Lewisville.

I got hotlinks with pulled pork and loaded potatoes. Every thing was fresh and flavorful. Restaurant was clean and staff were nice!

I’m not one to leave negative reviews but it’s not worth going to this place. Plenty of better options anywhere else. Food was cold and not good. Please go anywhere else to support other BBQ restaurants that are worth the price.

Y’all do not go. This was not good the food was bland, my cheesy potatoes are cold, the beans are over cooked and mushy so bad I spit them out. The brisket is so over cooked that it turns to much as well. The roll was doughy. The atmosphere is nice quiet and calm very homey and feels familiar but that’s not enough to make the food better. When we walked in we were not spoken to. And we had to wait 5 minutes to pay since the register was unattended (there was no line). You’re better off going to Rudy’s.

This is a personal opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own.
The price may vary day to day, and an attempt to order through the online ordering didn’t go through. I spoke to get brisket, chicken pulled pork and ribs, but I guess I will speak louder next time and actually get pulled pork, not extra ribs.

The Mac and cheese didn’t do well by my taste and was a lot to be desired. The chicken was juicy and delicious as well as the variation of sauce. Brisket was a little dry, and the ribs were able to pull clean off the bone with little effort.

Really doesn’t matter how good or bad the food was what does matters they charge a 4% service charge to use a debit card. Who in the hell pays cash nowadays? I’m not going to absorb your cost of doing business. If your credit card vendor charges you a fee for accepting debit and or credit cards that is your cost of doing business. You should find another vendor. Since you want to pass it on to the customers in times of inflation like this you lost our business, good luck.

Been coming here since I was a kid. I now live in California but visit Texas every few months. I think about this place on the flight. We have a lot of good food in Cali but no good BBQ that isn’t absolutely botched.

I recommend the 3 meat plate if you have a big appetite. Second favorite is the Big Tex sandwich.

Keep up the good food yall
