My daughter and her husband were visiting and so I decided to celebrate by taking them to this cool restaurant. What a great experience! Our servers worked as a team and were unbelievably attentive. They recommended a wine for the table which was fantastic. Our appetizers of calamari and crab were phenomenal. The term mouth watering best describes the calamari. Three of us ordered different cuts of filet (mine was a 15oz bone in cut) and they were all award winning meals. One of us ordered the scallops and she said they’re the best she’s ever eaten. I decided to try the cheesecake dessert even though we were full. I’m glad I did! It’s the best cheesecake I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. The ambiance is super intimate and it’s easy to have a conversation. I could find no flaws in this restaurant. 100% recommended!

My husband and I ate here last night to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We had reservations at another restaurant, but we were staying nearby and my husband was hungry and couldn’t wait for our reservation. So glad we ate here instead. Best dinner in a long time. The service was great and everyone was attentive (I think his name was Matt). The wagyu carpaccio was amazing. My sea bass was delicious. My husband’s Japanese A5 Wagyu was totally worth the price. Best steak either of us had ever eaten. I think I’m ruined on steak now as I’ll never want anything else! My husband and I will definitely be back. Also as we were walking back to the hotel – only been gone less than 5 mins – the staff called as my husband left his credit card. Really amazing service. Great food. It won’t disappoint.

Dinner was fantastic, but Josh made the entire night. The steak was spot-on, but his service was even better. He was so genuine and sweet the entire time, and honestly one of the funniest servers we’ve had in a long time. His sense of humor was subtle, perfectly timed, and made us feel like we were in great hands.
He checked in exactly when he needed to, kept the vibe light and warm, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever hovering. You could tell he truly enjoys what he does.
We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back. If you get the chance, ask for Josh — he’ll make your whole meal better! We will for sure be asking for Josh when we come back!

We have dined here several times and it was time to write a review. IMO hands down the best steak house in Sarasota and one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to dine at. The food, drinks and service are impeccable. Our waiter was professional, friendly and funny (we now request his table every visit). At atmosphere is classy and you feel it the moment you walk in the door. Whether you sit inside or outside every seat is great. Bring your appetite and prepare to be amazed.

Visited Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse during a weekend trip to Sarasota and left with mixed impressions. The interior fits the classic upscale steakhouse mold—dim lighting, rich wood tones, and cozy booths. We were seated in a booth, and while the setting was comfortable, the overall experience didn’t fully justify the premium price point.
I started with a glass of Orin Swift Abstract Red, which was excellent—so much so that I ordered a second. Unfortunately, the momentum dipped with the Double Chop Salad. On paper, it sounded fantastic with pancetta, heirloom tomatoes, crispy onions, aged cheddar, and buttermilk ranch. In reality, it lacked that crispness and freshness you expect from a well-executed chop salad. It improved slightly as I worked through it, but overall I wouldn’t order it again.
For my entrée, I chose the 8oz Filet Mignon. It was good—tender and properly cooked—but not particularly memorable. The sides, however, were a highlight. Both the Sautéed Spinach & Domestic Mushrooms and Roasted Garlic Whipped Potatoes were flavorful, well-seasoned, and perfectly executed. The surprise standout of the evening was actually the Chilean Sea Bass that someone else at the table ordered. I enjoyed the remaining portion more than my filet, which says a lot.
Service was the biggest opportunity for improvement. My salad was initially forgotten, and I needed to remind staff multiple times for a second glass of wine—something that shouldn’t happen in a high-end steakhouse. These small lapses created a less-than-polished dining experience.
In summary, Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse has the ambiance and the potential to be excellent, but for now it feels more “good” than “great.” The wine and sea bass shined, but the service and consistency fell short. I’m not sure I’d return, though never say never—great wine and a memorable piece of sea bass might draw me back someday.

We absolutely love Hyde Park Steakhouse! Tonight was our second visit, and we had John E. as our server..he was excellent and very attentive. For appetizers, we ordered the Beef Carpaccio and Oysters. For our entrées, I had the filet and my husband had the ribeye. We shared the mac and cheese and brussel sprouts for our sides. All of the food was outstanding, and we both agree they have the best steak in Sarasota.
We love coming here because the service is consistently great, and the atmosphere is relaxed without being too loud. We will definitely be back again

I recently took advantage of Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse’s special for Sarasota Savor Month: a 3-course meal for $45, and it truly lived up to the hype. The classic wedge salad was fresh and flavorful, and the crab cake was a delightful. However, the asparagus seemed a bit off; it had a frozen texture and lacked the crispiness I was hoping for.
The standout, of course, was the steak. The quality of the meat was exceptional—tender, perfectly cooked, and rich in flavor. For the price, this meal is a great value and definitely memorable. My only wish was for a slightly more elegant presentation, but overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.

I dined at Hyde Park for the 1st time this past week. Upon seating, I found a birthday card on the table signed by the staff. Nothing over-the-top, but it was such a nice gesture. Jeremy and his server assistant, John, were amazing! Both we professional and attentive throughout our meal. My ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare; the twice baked truffle potatoes were delicious, and don’t even get me started on the bananas foster for dessert! Overall, had a great birthday dinner!

We went for our anniversary and it was our first time. We were given a romantic table with rose petals and a card, waiting for us. The wait staff was amazing, fun, knowledgeable and kind. Food was a 10. Drinks were fabulous. They brought us a complimentary desert.
Blown away!!
