Our server Jay was great, he made our dinner enjoyable, made sure we had enough food, drinks, & attention, the manger Miguel was hands on! Miguel was everywhere, from making drinks, busing tables, talking to guess! I was very impressed with the quality of service the staff provided! I’ll be back! Great restaurant to visit when in Hartford.

Best seafood boil around! Their crabs are super meaty, their Shrimp is always well cooked and the lobster tail as well! I always get that combo bag and add some black Mussels as well as an egg and im telling you its so worth it! The atmosphere is always so lively and all the staff look like they want to be there lol. Very well decorated and clean. Sometimes there’s a little bit of a wait since its a pretty popular spot but that just speaks on its own of how good all their food is! Even the pasta dishes and fried rice is amazing! Definitely try their mozzarella sticks for appetizers you’ll thank me later.

My boyfriend was really in the mood for seafood and I happen to stumble across this place. What’s awesome is the all you can eat menu I was surprised by that actually! There was a nice variety of things to choose from. Keys was our waiter and he did amazing he was friendly, accommodating, and had great customer service. The food was good. The crab was definitely my favorite thing I had! You have an hour and a half to eat as much as you want and after that it’s $15/lb to take anything home. We would go again and try!

I absolutely love this place. The food is always on point, the drinks never miss, and the vibe is just right every single time. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome, JAY is our favorite server hands down such a gentlemen from the moment you walk in. This was my first time at Hook & Reel! Even though they didn’t accept reservations they got 7 us sat in no time. The atmosphere & music were such a vibe. Food banging, we had the lobster party with apps. Our server Emily was AMAZING!!!! She matched the energy, was so sweet and took such great care of us!! I will definitely be back and asking for Ms. Emily!! 10/10 highly recommend!!

Upon entering we approached the counter. We were not greeted. There were about five staff members there. The staff appeared preoccupied and dismissive. No one said, we will be right with you. We had to ask if we could get assistance. It felt like we were bothering them, to be honest. They called the manager over. She was extremely helpful with answering questions, explaining things and making us feel at ease. Apparently if one person wants the “all you can eat” option, everyone at the table has to order the same thing. Once seated, we were greeted by our server. Our food and drinks came out quickly. The wings were really good. The fried shrimp was really good. The seafood boil was excellent. The portions were very generous. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was ok. It was dimly lit. There was no background music which would have made the ambiance more pleasant. We told the waiter one of our guests were celebrating a birthday. He bought over a tiny, dry piece of plain cake. He indicated that his fellow servers refused to accompany him to sing happy birthday. I found his disclosure to be extremely disheartening to say the least. It speaks to lack of teamwork. They add a 20% gratuity to each check without stating that anywhere on the menu. Going forward I would probably eat there again, but most likely would opt for takeout instead of dine in.

My boyfriend planned a whole dinner for my birthday and this was the chosen spot. 15/10 recommend, although it was a little bit of a wait because they don’t take reserve reservations, the wait was ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! Emily was our server and she was amazing from start to finish. From her bubbly, fun personality to her attentiveness and customer service, she made my birthday experience one to remember and we will definitely be back!!

I have never been to a restaurant in a strip mall that stayed packed from afternoon till night. Where do I start? The waiter we had was so amazing that I actually had to stand and give him applause but so did everyone in the venue. Absolutely 5star service for and management. The manager was working harder than the beer taps. I tell you I live in Boston but I would definitely travel back to Connecticut and put this place at the top of my lists of favorites. Thank you Hook and reel for an amazing night!!!
