I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I didn’t expect such solid Cajun food within Austin, much less with the decor of this place. It really felt like a small slice of Louisiana!

We loved all of the food we got. The Étouffée and the catfish were both very well seasoned, and the gator was tender and juicy. Definitely recommend for Cajun food in Austin!

Tasty & Fresh Catfish!!! Light, melted in my mouth & NO greasy aftertaste. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch special. Wait staff members are welcoming, work well together & everyone is friendly. Small spot in the neighborhood, worth trying. My company raved about their hamburgers & gumbo. If you enjoy Cajun food, you won’t be dissapointed. Fairly priced, with nice portions. I will be coming back, again & again.

I ordered a dinner portion of jambalaya to go and this is what it looks like. I must say the jambalaya served from Popeyes chicken looks more appropriate than what I purchased.

I came here for an early dinner around 4 PM in February 2026. I have been listening to Zotko music all day and had a hankering for some gumbo and red beans and rice and that’s what I ordered. The gumbo consisted of rice, broth, and the tiny little shrimp that restaurants get out out of a giant bag. Not bad flavor for the gumbo it just didn’t have any ingredients in it. The red beans and rice were good. It shouldn’t have been as dry as it was but still fairly good. The service was just mediocre and the lemonade was good. I won’t be back.

I took a buddy who had never had Cajun. I got him to eat some alligator bites. Probably, the best we’ve ever had. Sorry about the picture we’d already ate about half of it before, I remembered to take the picture…. I had a stuffed pork chop, and he had a shrimp, po boy, and it was all incredible. The waitress helped him out since he was a rookie. Although I could have, it was great for her to jump in, place is fun. The walls are packed with memorabilia and Louisiana style stuff. Great place, and it’s a little hole in the wall from the outside, so don’t let that deter you…

Loved the live music. Our waitress was amazing. It was my birthday dinner and I had never been there but I was really craving cajun. All the food was yummy! We also tried both desserts. The bread pudding was to die for. Will be back again.

Enjoyed this hole in the wall. Tried several appetizers and the gumbo. Highly recommended the stuffed pistolette. Also had green and red wings. I liked the red, the green weren’t for me. They had good fried pickles too. The gumbo wasn’t my favorite, a little salty for me. Would recommend this place for atmosphere and good service.

I have never had a bad meal here. My husband is Cajun, raised in Louisiana, and he absolutely loves the food. The atmosphere and wait staff are fantastic. We like to go a little early to avoid the lunch rush. They have beer and wine and fountain drinks, entrees, appetizers, desserts, baskets and po boys. They are closed Sundays and have live music during the week. Highly recommend!
